Let's continue to make public our positions on her views, negative or positive. It helps a very progressive website get traffic. That's always a good thing.

and shouldn't be considered in the same category as Hillary and Jane Hamsher. I'm serious.

There is no excuse for allying herself with the likes of him, for any reason. Maybe FDL is getting more traffic, but none of it will come from me.

I don't think agreeing with investigating a corporatist centrist will translate into "fleas," unless she turns pro-abortion, pro-war and others.

17. Would you feel any differently if her alliance for the same purpose
was with Karl Rove or Dick Cheney? Because Norquist is no better, and his motive, like theirs, has always been to bring down liberals and Democrats in any way possible. Hamsher may wish to get rid of Rahm Emanuel (and I'm no fan of his, either). Fine. But you can take it to the bank that for Norquist, getting rid of Emanuel is merely a means to embarrass, weaken and defeat Obama and his administration. I would hope Hamsher does not intend any such thing.

You assume that I like Norquist. I don't like him at all. But I don't blind myself by looking at motives. I know what MY motives is in regard of asking for an investigation. I want to know what an inspector general has been blocked from reviewing Emanuel's stint there.

30. They simply COSIGNED a letter, for god's sakes.

It's not like she is adopting his agenda in any way, shape or form. They're still ideological enemies, and Norquist can go drown himself in a bathtub, as far as she (and all progressives) are concerned.

The hysteria behind this is ridiculous. Not as if liberal groups haven't cosigned letters with Norquist before.

Wonder why all the people having hissyfits over FDL's co-signing a letter with Grover Norquist never freaked out when he co-signed a letter with the Campaign for America's Future? And doing it again in the space of one month, even?

Where were they when he worked with the ACLU? Or Alec Baldwin?

Are they saying that only certain kinds of lefties are allowed to do outreach to righties?

More past the jump.
Phoenix Woman's diary :: ::

Funny how nobody went after Alec Baldwin for appearing with Grover Norquist at a PFAW panel in opposition to the "Patriot" Act.

Or how nobody went after the ACLU when they joined forces with Norquist to oppose CAPPS airport spying, national ID cards, and to support medical marijuana usage.

It's also funny that none of these people criticized President Obama when he does fox-in-henhouse moves like nominating conservative foes of the Legal Services Corporation to be on the board of the LSC.

What does that tell you?

"cosigners" sounds mild; that's why they choose to ignore it.

We are to believe that they agree in many things and that they will hold hands forever.

In order to make someone see your position, you must first convince them that you and them share some common purpose on earth instead of a world made up completely of us vs them. Then you can state your case unfiltered. Jane is trying to practice that no matter how painful and no matter how many will not like it or understand it.

Jane Hamsher is an idiot. She is losing credibility. An increase in traffic due to sensationalism isn't permanent.
