Poll question: Latest terror incident disclosures: Stupid or Shrewd?
Yes, this poll encourages folks to register an opinion on something which we cannot currently know the truth of. Welcome to the internet.

Security-type stories always have a a lot of leaks. Most are official... the official story dispensed to the media on a "background" basis. The media should not play along, since the only reason for anonymous sourcing is to evade subsequent accountability, but that's how it is done. Some are not official, like when members of intelligence committees blab stuff out of turn, or turf-battle/ass-covering leaks like when someone leaks to present the story i a favorable light and/or divert responsibility to some one else.

It is puzzling that the public version of the Detroit plane-bomb incident announces that he get the bomb in Yemen, and is talking plenty.

That seems kind of idiotic... why essentially instruct every bad guy in Yemen to cover his tracks ASAP?

On the other hand, perhaps it is disinformation... a story put out (true or not) in order to flush out some Yemenis somehow.

Best guess: Do you think that particular leak is stupid lip-flapping, a shrewd stratagem, or something else.
