STEPH should have stayed put. He doesn't look comfortable at GMA, Robin & the weather guy have got their Personality Hormones in high gear and appear trying not to laugh at his height next to them.

Actually, ABC screwed up before with the previous wrong picks and did it again now by picking SAWYER, who will soon be long in the tooth and doesn't have globe-trotting cred. They should have picked STEPH.

As for TAPPER, he's stuck on himself and skews wingnut and the combination will probably lead to a sex embarrassment.

1. I'm sorry, but I have no idea who TAPPER might be or what
this post is about. Could you offer a little more information for those of us who are not "in the know?"

4. Well, O.K. He comes off in Wiki as Dem, but Gawker pegs him as a TOOL
Edited on Sun Dec-27-09 10:24 AM by UTUSN
The funny parts are dual: 1) I'm (MOI?!1) am thought to be "IN THE KNOW"?!1 and 2) I was worried that I was going to be flamed for age-ism (SAWYER long in the tooth) and height-ism (STEPH, short).

Jake Tapper Demands White House Apologize To Fox News

ABC White House correspondent and alleged tool Jake Tapper is furious with the White House for saying Fox News is not a "legitimate news organization." He had an argument with Robert Gibbs about it!

Why bother? Because the TV news portion of the White House Press Corps is an exclusive country club of identical privileged tools who've convinced themselves that arguing with a stonewalling flack for an hour a day is doing the dirty work of democracy. And insulting one of them is tantamount to censorship.

Jake Tapper
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tapper at the White House on July 22, 2009.
Jacob Paul "Jake" Tapper (born March 12, 1969) is an American print and television journalist, currently the Senior White House Correspondent for ABC News in Washington, DC. He was named to that position the day after Election Day, 2008, having covered then-Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign.

He last interviewed President Obama in July in Moscow, in an interview where the President expressed confidence that his foreign policy approach was starting to work and said regarding the stimulus package "there's nothing that we would have done differently."<1> In January, Tapper broke the story of the tax troubles of then-Health and Human Services Secretary nominee and former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, D-SD,<2> troubles that ultimately derailed Daschle's nomination. ....

On July 6, 2009, former MSNBC television personality Dan Abrams launched a website service, Mediaite, reporting on media figures. The site ranks all TV-based journalists in America by influence. Tapper ranks, as of October 2009, right between Erin Andrews and Mike Wallace at number three.<7>

Tapper is considered one of the leading candidates to replace George Stephanopoulos as host of This Week. Stephanopoulos took over for Diane Sawyer, co-host of Good Morning America, when she assumed the role as anchor of World News Tonight.<8> ....

6. I remember him from
way back when he wrote for Salon.com. I exchanged emails with him a couple of times. He seemed like a liberal back then.

Haven't followed him much since then. Maybe he's had to reign in any appearance of "liberal bias" to advance in the industry.

8. I seem to remember Wonkette or somebody saying he thinks he's really good looking

Googling "Wonkette Tapper" only got this close (link). But maybe I'm wrong about him. There are a lot of Google items citing what seem to be Lib hash marks--he's married to somebody from Planned Parenthood, fer gudness sakes!1

....

Who would you cast as Jake in "Tapper," the movie?*

I would suggest Daniel Day Lewis/Scorcese but the studio would insist on Seth Rogen/Apatow. We'd compromise and go with Paul Rudd/Ramis. It wouldn't do very well, but that would be my fault.

*Tapper posed the same question to his "followers" on Twitter and "friends" on Facebook. Here are their suggestions:

Removing those actors who are no longer living, their suggestions are: Rin Tin Tin, Leslie Nielsen, Toby Maguire, Brad Pitt, Woody Allen, John Cusack, John Cryer, Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Christian Slater, Will Ferrell, John Malkovich, Brad Chase, Vince Vaughn, Matt Dillon, Jake Gyllenhal, Billy Boyd, Matthew Fox, Jack Black, Fred Savage, John Edwards, Ben Stiller, Borat, James Marsden, Josh Charles, Kermit the Frog, Sam Donaldson, George Stephanopoulos, Russell Crowe, Kevin Spacey, Luke Wilson, Johnny Depp, Ryan Reynolds, Mark Ruffalo, Matt Damon, Dominic West, Steve Carrell, Kevin costner, Paul Rudd, Norm McDonald, Chris Noth, Aaron Eckhart, Rob Livingston, Viggo Mortensen, Jeremy Piven, Bill Pullman Nicolas Cage, Gerard Christopher, Ben Affleck, Zach Quinto, Ed Norton, Jeremy Northam, Christian Bale, Chris Cooper, Tom Hanks' son, Jason Sudeikis, Mel Gibson, and Morgan Freeman.

7. He really held McConnell's feet to the fire for not answering
questions on his flip flop on Medicare. He said that seldom heard phrase, "You didn't answer my question."

10. He let McConnell tell LIE after LIE without once asking for any verification
McConnell said the Health care bill was a Huge government "take over" of our Health Care. He said the Democrats never once on any issue asked Republicans for their input or help. He said the very great Majority of the american people were opposed to Health Care Reform. On and on, LIE after LIE and Tapper never once asked for any proof of such. Allowing such LIES to go uncontested takes all credibility from his show IMO.

3. I stopped watching ABC a long time ago.
Can't stomach Stephanopolous. Don't watch CNN either anymore. Our local CBS streams both FOX & CNN in its off air time so I don't go there either.
