I DO want to know who was told by the father this guy was trouble and I want to know what they did with the information. SomeONE decided this did not warrent further attention. Where did the proverbial buck stop?

1. I agree. How is it that a guy gets on a plane after being told that he is trouble.

3. Yes, they keep having security failures on the Intel end, but do this crap.
This is the story of the post 9-11 idiocy. They fail to pay attention to warning bells and whistles. They sit on their butts and do nothing when all sorts of intel is warning them, and then when an act occurs predictably, they run around instituting these idiotic measures that don't do a damn thing useful.

It's something to make scared old teabaggers from middle America feel more secure.

5. I do give credit fo the Nigerian father who turned in his son to the authories
even though it didn't do much good. I'm certain it was a difficult decision to make and the man is to be commended!

6. The U.S. Government knows what they are doing....
..it's all about the fear level.. up, down.. all around.

If they can keep you in fear.. they can steal all of your Constitutional Freedoms...no questions asked.

7. I was told the full story of that the guy Reid who tried to light his shoe....
was flagged by the airline as suspicious and the french made them put him on the plane. I wonder what the full story will be in this case.

8. Look at it from the Bush Admin view:
If the guy tried something and he was caught, they'd be heroes. If they didn't catch him (more likely) only 200-300 people would die and Bush could expand his powers even more. For them, it was a win-win.

there's a line that's soon to be crossed where flying = torture

i don't mean outright pulling fingernails out torture, i mean where all your body movements and functions have to be in total control of the state for several hours or more, a inhuman scenario for the human body

people will just stop flying, which will hurt or kill off some portion of another deregulated industry that's needed govt. bailouts over the years

just to CYA intelligence or dhs who screwed up...this will not solve their problem

12. Driving, busses & trains are not ususlly a real option in this country.
Travail time cuts into my 30 days a year vacation time. And that is a big thing.

15. Oh Give It A Rest...

I guarantee no more delays at airports for you.

I'll send the TSA a tip claiming to be your father and get you on the no fly list.

Does that work better?
