Another Terrorist Incident - Or A Little Xmas Constipation?
Another Incident on Another Flight 253

Is Northwest's Amsterdam-Detroit flight cursed? A Nigerian man was taken into custody aboard a flight from Amsterdam to Detroit Sunday—just two days after a different Nigerian man attempted to detonate a liquid explosive on the same flight on Christmas day. The second man reportedly locked himself in the airliner's bathroom; the airline has not yet said why they suspected him of terrorism, though CNN reports the man was "verbally disruptive." All 256 passengers have been safely taken off the plane.

Berchtold, a spokeswoman for the Joint Terrorism Task Force in Detroit, said Sunday's alert was caused by a passenger who "spent a lengthy time in the restroom."

"This raised concerns, so an alert was raised," she said.

The passenger spent about an hour in the bathroom and got upset when he was questioned by the crew of the flight from Amsterdam, Netherlands, according to government sources. Law enforcement agents questioned the man Sunday.

1. Pick on Nigerian week? Plane food can be lethal..
I know I've been locked up in the plane bathroom spewing out one end, and crapping out the other...what? are they going to start timing how long you spend in the bathroom now?
There are 'incidents' on planes every friggin day...they going to report all of them,or just the Nigerian ones...

2. Heck yeah. When I'm in the head for an hour I get really pissed when the crew wants to know why.

3. I would get upset if I was waiting to go in the bathroom
I have seen lines as long as 5 deep waiting to go ~ a hour is more than enough time and should be questioned.

There is not much space for reading a newspaper in there.

4. Nerves are raw right now, and this guy was a scapegoat. I
read earlier he was and is no threat.

Dec. 27 (Bloomberg) -- A disruptive passenger on a Northwest Airlines international flight to Detroit was questioned by law enforcement officials today after the plane landed, and was later released.

Federal Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Sandra Berchtold said in a statement that the incident was “not- serious.” She didn’t identify the passenger.

Susan Elliott, a spokeswoman for Atlanta-based Delta, said the flight crew asked law enforcement officers to meet the plane “out of an abundance of caution.” The plane landed without incident.
