1. They've grown on me
I used to think they were a freak show but they're actually putting their $$ where their mouth is. They're much more Christ-like than most Christians I know.

Do I still think they're strange? Without a doubt. But generally I think they're good people. I admire Michelle's patience and would give anything to have just an ounce of it.

13. The Quiverfull lifestyle is simply awful.
And I hate TLC for trying to portray it as a healthy, but alternative lifestyle.

10. Maybe not lizards
But I'll bet there is at least one strand of rabbit DNA in there someplace!

8. That's unfortunate
Especially since they're Repubs. Jim Bob was a state rep for three years.

14. I am one of them
I disagree with their politics and their religion, but if we take away their freedom to live as they wish then we are no better than they are. Go ahead. Bash away.

I call it political suicide, not defense......

4. I'd say none of the above
They're anti-contraception for themselves, but I've not heard of them being anti-contraception in general.

Their family, their lives - it seems to work for them, so why should I care?

5. Hypocrisy of the highest Fundie level
They do not allow TV, or their spawn to use computers, but they use TV and computers to make money by whoring themselves out to the world. They are believers in the 'we know what's best for you ' Fundie philosophy.

22. I hated Michael Kandon for this very thing
He refused to let his own kids watch TV. But he sure didn't mind making money from other people's kids watching TV.

6. As members of the radical religious right,
they are emphatically anti-contraception for everyone.

They also seem to want to send us back to Prohibition. If I read correctly once upon a time, it's people like the Duggars who sweep issues like alcoholism under the rug, and make it even worse as a result.

12. Its about time the US govt,
stopped giving tax deductions beyond two children and health insurance costs were charged per child instead of a "Family rate". (exceptions given for foster and adoptive parents in either case)

15. I can't stand them.
Their extreme fundie beliefs drive me crazy. And how can anyone stand to bring so many kids into the world?? Like the world needs more fundies who live in the stone age.
I've often wondered, though, which of their 19 kids will end up being gay. There's a great possibility that at least one(and maybe two) of them will.

17. Scientific studies have shown a correlation between "gaiety' and family size
To cut a long explantion short (i cannot be arsed to find and read the report again) they suspect that it's something along the lines of an attraction (to men) gene. Hence mothers constantly with bun in oven then higher proportion of sons with lavender tendencies.

18. I do, too.
As much as I dislike the Duggars, their baby is innocent and I hope she survives without any major, lifelong, problems. That being said, I hope this is a wake up call to the Duggars that they have brought enough children into the world and any more might kill Michelle and/or the baby.

20. One thing which often
speaks of their hypocrisy and that of other RR extremists--they decry liberal "murder" of fetuses, but they largely don't bother to adopt all the babies that are already in this world that need parents, unless, for the most part, they are "white" babies. It's hard to like people who overwhelmingly lie and hate while they're supposedly preaching the words of the bible. And the Duggars are absolutely no different than the other arrogant bastards in this world who talk about the "gifts from god" but do absolutely nothing to help those less fortunate in the world.

You can believe anything you want to, but if you're harming anyone--animals as much as humans, you're no damned good, regardless of what you say you believe.

21. i don't think they are as bad as Jon and Kate
i think their relationship with each other is much more healthy .

but i still criticize them for having so many kids.

but i have to admit, i do enjoy watching their show sometimes. even just to make fun of them. like when the son proposed to his now wife. how they didn't kiss and first time they kissed was after they got married.

i also have issues with having so many kids and expecting older kids to take on so much responsiblity in raising them. yeah, watching younger sibs is something older kids always do but it goes too far. i know they are all ok with it but i just think it's wrong.
