Pardon my cynicism but WTF is
Al Qaeda in the Arabian peninsula. I just heard they are claiming responsibility for the underwear bomb scare on the aircraft.

2. Why the cynicism in this particular case? It is a fact the bomber went to
Yemen and that it was the father who told American authorities of his son's involvement with a Yemani AQ cell.

17. Interesting is an understatement. It is as if people have adopted the
position that terrorism doesn't exist, that it's fabricated to demonize Muslims.

24. It's not "people" we're talking about: it's the American government at the embassy
No matter what "people" think, the embassy does something about it. The fact that it didn't is interesting.

34. But the government is not a machine, its comprised of people who make
value judgements when carrying out policy. The incompetence lies with people who are charged with implementing policy.

The terrorists are getting braver and we must not back down from destroying them. I am glad our President is attacking Yemen to show the terrorists we will go anywhere to kill them.

to go off. Those wouldn't be visible even to the nude-scanners. Amsterdam had those scanners and was not allowed to use them on flights to the US. Wonder why?

Someone should have grabbed 'hot crotch' and pissed on him to put out the flames.

41. Every group is a "well-known AQ group" now.
Anywhere in the Muslim world where people are engaging in nationalist resistance OR any sort of Jihad OR any sort of terrorism, everybody's calling themselves AQ. It's become an amorphous catch-all self-description for any sort of armed resistance to Western aggression in the Muslim world.
