White Christmas: Pretty or Life Threatening?

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- On one Kansas City street, most residents have given up trying to get up and down the street in vehicles because of the lack of snow removal.

A large hill on Denver Street near 35th Street has not been plowed since the snow started on Christmas and while it's an inconvenience for some, it's a "life and death" situation for one family.

"The past four days I've pretty much been stuck here," Melanie Downs said.

Downs lives at the top of Denver Street. It's a great location, she said, except when Mother Nature visits.

"I love this house, it's very quiet, it's very peaceful, but when it snows we don't get any snow removal and I seemed to be stranded on this hillside," Downs said.

Downs' wait for the thaw is life-threatening. She has gone more than three days without her dialysis treatment.

"We got about halfway down the hill and went off the road and got our car stuck in a snow drift," Downs said.

That is more intrusive on your life. I wonder who exactly those people voted for? If they wanted less government, that's exactly what they got.
