I wonder if NYSAG Cuomo (D) will go after Nebraska's health care perks..
It looks like the GOP got a bunch of State AGs (all GOP so far) will be "looking into" Sen.M.Baucus and his rat wormy deals to get socialized medicine for certain special interests in his state in return for his support in the health insurance reform bill.

In NY our Gov. is having a hard time seeing the benefit of the health insurance bill. Sen.Schumer is debating him on it through the media.

I wonder if NYSAG Cuomo will get into the mix. I could see Cuomo supporting universal health care or a 90% per dollar cap for private insurance companies. Something that would work for America (and that Cuomo would never have to push through DC, lol).
I could see him getting behind Obama, as it would be good politics.
I could also see him taking a leading position on real health care, supporting the NYS Gov (who he will primary next year), and putting NYS before pork DC politics (which the socialized medicine for NE is - DC PORK POLITICS!).
I guess time will tell..

1. Schumer and Gillebrand, being behind the bill, lost bargaing leverage. Paterson is right.
:hi:

2. Ah, but the politics of it all, ommm.. the sweet politics of it all..
I mean, if you were Andrew, how would you play it.. you want to be Gov., you are willing to wait (especially after the whole McCall fiasco), but, it may be time now to run for Gov. You want it. This (request to investigate NE) comes along. What do you do.. What do you do?
Armchair quarterback it Ommm!

3. While I understand the anger here I think that this perk is not as much
money as most people think. Nebraska has a small population. They also have several large Indian Reservations. The Native Americans who live there are covered under Indian Health Services so they are not going to be part of this deal. That leaves the poor out of this small population that it will cover plus I understand that it will only cover those who get new coverage under this bill. Not a very large number of people. In my estimation he could have asked for more.

4. it is small scale
agreed..
but .. it just seems so.. well, wrong.
The public option in "too good" for everyone, except for the people that can vote for Max. They get to have it..
See, I could see Bernie Sanders getting this VT, as it would be up his ally.
Max should have asked for a health care company to HQ in NE. Thy own self be true..
You are right - he could have asked for much more..
