6. That would get a guaranteed donation from me.
Anybody with that sense of humor deserves a hell of a lot more than a meal.

99.999 percent of the time asking for change for dog food is a scam.

People will feed your dog before they will feed you, this is not to say that she may not have been honest, she very well may be,but as someone who has had "Visions of a Cheesburger" I would be doubtful about this one.

I had a Lab for a long time while I was homeless (Its nice to have an extra pair of eyes watching your back in the middle of the night) but it was never a problem to keep her fed.

It was much harder it keep myself fed.

Edit for more clarity.

11. Interesting. Weren't you embarrassed?
Scam or not, I think people have to be fairly desperate to hold a sign begging at freeway exits, just because of the shame factor.

12. It is much easier to cram ones pride in ones pocket,
Than to tell your stomach to stop pokin at you.

Real Cold is another motivating thing...It becomes less embarrassing as the temperature falls and your fingers and feet start to tell you that Stage 1 Hypothermia isn't too far off.

10. In Russia in the 1990s, female college professors turned to prostitution in order to eat
The economy was so godawful because Wall Street was gutting them. I know personally about the college professors because I was helping refugees at the time.
