1. They never have been, they've always been to the right
like every other corporate media giant.

They have just provided us with one centrist, Olberman, and one slightly left of center news anchor, Maddow.

Just don't think that makes them our friends because they're not.

3. Politico is another reichwing pundit nest
and I did watch RM and KO, but have gotten tired of them giving the repigs air time. So fuck them too. I have reached the point that I will no longer watch and am just waiting for the call to come to get out the pitchforks and torches.
This is not democracy anylonger and has not been for a while.
My faith such as it was is not longer in anything that this
kkkountry spouts as true. Hell I am just about to write off DU too.

12. Name even one Republican you have seen on Countdown
Rachel interviews those she detests, but Keith does not do that. His guests, as some complain about, are all on 'his side' more or less.

13. Here's two
Pat Buchanan

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5067174/

John Ashcroft

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15295378/

Obviously not recently, but you didn't specify

Some may complain that he doesn't do a shoutfest like O'Reilly, but those that complain never acknowledge that Olbermann does his show live, unlike O'Reilly who tapes and can then edit to make himself look good, and that Olbermann doesn't shoutdown and interrupt, like O'Reilly, thus allowing for more intelligent conversation.

Did they say something bad about Obama?

So the network of Olberman and Maddow is now under the bus also. Sad.

10. Not saying that it doesn't have its conservative side,
In fact Olberman and Maddow are about the best things on that network.

However I find it funny that somebody is ready to ditch it all simply because of one problem. You know, that whole baby/bathwater thing.

11. I separate Olbermann and Maddow (I don't get to watch Ed because he doesn't podcast on iTunes) from
the rest of MSNBC.

They (and they aren't the only network that does this) *do* regurgitate Politico stories round the clock.

5. "Conventional Wisdom"
That's the term the beltwayers like to use instead of what it is...circle jerking.

The media lives in its own bubble...one that looks at our political system as a sport, a game...a place to make a name. It's becoming a "pundit" where your byline is constantly in people's faces and your mug is on the teevee. It's done through stirring the pot, speculation and being used by politicians and others to astroturf messages, including many lies, that become an "assumed fact". This "wisdom" has many long established memes...ones we're all too familiar with such as Democrats being weak on defense or the GOOP being "fiscally responsible". It's a mindset that doesn't change cause it benefits those who live inside that world so well.

The corporate media serves its own interests which aren't very liberal. Thanks to "deregulation" and consolidation, there are fewer and fewer voices inside that betlway bubble world thus the words of those who covet their status are echoed louder.

As we saw with all the networks rushing to Faux's defense when they were excluded from a photo-op, it's a very provincial world as you're always stroking the competition since they could be your next paycheck.

Cheers...

9. I don't get to watch much anymore but will defend MSNBC to the extent that
there is nothing else which even pretends to show a more liberal perspective. Ed Shultz is very good at representing the view of the working class. And KO and Rachel are far to the left of anyone else we have. Even Dylan Ratigan took down some of the tools of the insuarance industry during the health care reform debate. Not perfect but the closest we have, for now. If they attract an audience that the network considers beneficial it could spur the rise of a few more left leaning news formats.

15. Keep in mind that Olbermann and Maddow are on in PRIME TIME. MSNBC isn't perfect, but Politico
is pure propaganda and I've happil;y challenged every story from them that I've seen posted on DU--and I've been proven right every single time.

Dear malevolently masturbating media motherfuckers,

What a scene you painted today. On the one hand was the first duly elected president in eight years, giving a speech in front of the actual Constitution of the United States. On the other hand is a former high level government official, now a *private citizen*, making some disgruntled remarks at the privately owned, right wing, borderline terrorist, offices of a right wing funded group.

Why did you choose to not only cover the later with the same fake gravitas as the former, but to equate them by virtue of that coverage? Are you lazy, stupid, or owned? Never mind. You are at least two of the three.

To MSNBC, specifically, shame on you. You grow closer to Politico each day. For all your vaunted 'liberal' night time lineup, you use your power not to report truth, but to catapult the right wing spew no less than you ever did. You're just more sneaky about it. That slimeball, gnome-like, motherfucker, Jack Welch clearly still holds sway at 30 Rock. Shame on you. You're the worst of the worst. Faux, at least, does not pretend what they are. YOU DO.

To NBC, see above.

To ABC, you got nothin'. Charlie Gibson? He sucked in the morning. He sucks worse at night.

To CBS, ask yourself why the kids on South Park measure the potency of turds in Courics.

But today ..... all of you ...... outdid yourselves. You put that draft dodging, not-near-enough-to-death, snarling WAR CRIMINAL on the same level as a decent man who was actually elected by the majority of voters to lead this country.

Shame on you all.
