In East Bumfuck, a hard working, uninsured man of 54 years died of untreated coronary artery disease. A diabetic 71 year old woman went into a coma and died; her diabetes was untreated. She had no insurance. A young, energetic 14 year old girl broke her arm when she fell off her bike. After a long ER wait, she was treated and then taken home by her uninsured parents, who will get a bill that will force them to choose paying the rent or the hospital and maybe precipitate bankruptcy. None of this made the news, even though the day claimed two lives and affected many more.
