Jim DeMint would rather stick it to the unions than protect our country
Reporting from Washington and Los Angeles - In the wake of the botched Christmas Day airliner attack, industry groups, airport workers and others have renewed calls on Congress to confirm President Obama's nominee to head the Transportation Security Administration.

The confirmation of Erroll Southers, a former FBI agent and the top law enforcement official at Los Angeles World Airports, has been pending since September. Trade groups and pilots union leaders say the latest incident heightens concerns that the agency still does not have a permanent leader.

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), the ranking member on the aviation subcommittee of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, has led the opposition to Southers' confirmation by raising questions about whether he would allow TSA security screeners to unionize.

Southers, who also is associate director at USC's Center for Risk and Economic Analysis of Terrorism Events, has the support of several airline trade groups and pilots associations.

Let's see here, the TSA without a permanent leader has accidentally released a document where you could see the redacted information and there was also this attempted terrorist attack.

I think unions are the least of our problems, don't you agree?

2. Any other obstructionists should be called out too because
there are a large number of the President's appointments who have not been confirmed yet. We do not have a fully operating executive. ANd this brought to you buy the very people who redfacedly screamed that * deserved all of the people he wanted.

3. Following the great union-busting trail Reagan blazed for us.
I really dispise, hate and loathe DeMint. I want him GONE, as badly or moreso than I want the same for Lieberman. I don't pray for people to die, but sometimes I'm tempted.

4. I am with you there
I have enough despite to go around. Having been shat on over and over working in non union states, I should have been able to retire after my ojt injuries instead of landing on the street n being sick and homeless.

I know I sound bitter and am to a degree , mostly though I am a happy person who does not want to see others go through what I have, aside from the reich wingers who I would like to see get a big ass dose of anti gay discrimination, homelessness and illness to get a taste of what I have been through because of their ignorance and greed.

5. Isn't it against the law to stop unionizing if the employees want
it? So how can a guarantee be given to not allow them?
