Avatar Takes in Another $19 Million at Box Office on Monday December 28th.
It seems that moviegoers can't get enough of the magical world of Pandora at the box office these days. Box Office Mojo is reporting that James Cameron's Avatar has taken in an astonishing $19.4 million on Monday, its 11th day in theatrical release.

The site is also reporting that the figure is the second-highest non-holiday Monday gross, behind The Dark Knight's $24.4 million last summer. Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel took second place on Monday with just over $12 million and Sherlock Holmes came in third on Monday with $11.1 million.

Avatar currently has a domestic gross of $232.1 million and a worldwide haul of over $600 million after just 11 days. Cameron's film could make a run for the box office record books if it keeps up with torrid pace, so be sure to stay tuned right here as we'll be filling you in with all the Avatar box office news as soon as the new numbers come in.

Looks like Avatar most certainly didnt Bankrupt Fox as one thread stated was a possibility. The Dark Knight was first in a non-holiday Monday gross, but that was also its fourth day, while Avatar is on its 11th day.

3. Actually, I've seen it twice and plan to see it again.
Most of my friends who have seen it plan to go back, also.

6. Once was enough for me
Not one original idea in the whole movie.

I wish they had spent a little more money on writers and a little less on special effects.

What a waste of time it was.

4. I thought it was a pretty average movie.
The story arc was massively predictable.

7. It's pretty enjoyable. Although some might call the story "trite"...you should like it.
If you see it in IMAX 3d you will not regret the sheer amount of eyecandy...I didn't think it gratuitous and most of it was rather creative. The alien flora and fauna was fantastic. Just my two cents.
