I see shit hasn't changed one bit
Haven't posted here in awhile, but I see that shit is still the same as when BFE was in office.

Economy still stinks, unemployment is still rising, shows no signs whatsoever of improving. These jobs just are not going to come back, why should corporations hire over here when they can pay slave wages in some third-world country?

We're still attacking Muslim countries around the world, which only serves to increase animosity towards the US.

We're still using Bush era "terra terra terra" bullshit scares like the incident in Detroit. So now we're going to have machines installed in airports all over the country that will allow TSA employees to get their jollies seeing us all naked. Who exactly is the one who manufactures these machines, hmmmm - seems like somebody is going to be getting a nice juicy contract!

And perhaps one of my biggest gripes, healthcare reform is still a pipedream. No single-payer system, and now it looks like we're not even going to get a damned public option either. There's a real nice fucking solution - let's force everybody to buy insurance, but you can only buy it from private companies - the same fucking companies that have been ripping us off and driving up prices for decades, deciding what treatments you can and cannot get, who you can and cannot see, etc. Yeah, I'm real fucking happy about that. We have the White House, and control of both houses of Congress - and yet we allow the repukes and DINOs to push us around?

Is there really anything to be optimistic about going into 2010?

2. Trust me man, just go back in your hole and hibernate the entire year.
You've summed it up nicely in just a few paragraphs.

21. Half? Then you're doing better than many of us. Mine is down to a sip or two.
Makes it kind of hard to be a glass half full kind of gal right now.

6. Should security at airports be decreased?
Anyway. There is plenty to be optimistic about. You are alive and mentally aware enough to be on your computer typing away about how everything sucks. There are people with no shelter or food to eat, but by all means, continue to act like you have the worst luck in the world!

Because that's the ONLY change the working class is going to be getting from this crew in Washington -- IF that.

13. Ah, yes, the "take it or leave it" response
I didn't leave the US, I just haven't posted here in awhile. I fail to see how my presence, or lack thereof, here on DU has any bearing on the state of things.

10. Obama states that cost of living has gone down in last 12 months which is the reason
those collecting disability benefits will not see an increase this year in the cost of living index allowance. That's the best news I've heard all year, - the cost of living has gone down folks, what say you?
