Wow these Fox corespondent are good. |
|
On C-span this AM a caller asked a question a this lady from Fox ant the caller phrased the question well...he wanted to know why so many Muslims hate us so bad they are willing to blow themselves up to get even. and while he asked the Fox lady made notes, and when he was through she repeated his question back at him with HER talking points in mind....that is why she made notes.....then she answered by saying that first it is complicated....then went on with some psychobabble about what motivates the individual to do it, and so avoided the question of what causes millions of people to hate us so bad
I mean it seems to me that it would be the first thing that comes to mind when dealing with an adversary, just find out what his complaint is and see what you can do to mitigate or counter the negative.
But this questions is never answered by the media.....WHY

4. The plan to take over the media was equisitely orchestrated. They |
|
seem to have planned and delivered a near perfect control of the stations that go to most homes.
And our Dem leaders don't to anything about it.

11. The plan precedes Clinton. The action is ongoing. Everything done to us |
|
tells us what they (baron clan) think of us. To pass off propaganda clowns and pretenders as journalists and experts. The think tanks worked it out and carried it out. And lobbyists seal the deal for the baron clan.
If clan is too celtic (meaning too insulting to the the descendents of celts - we can say tribe or herd or something else.
Nut, it is all those who profit the most, including all those who torment the most, including all those who judge the most, and those who have maneuvered 'investing' and the religious radicals and lemmings the most.

7. It may be that we have a media-congressional complex. |
|
And I think a case could be made of that if you follow the money flow.

6. Yep...Agenda First...for both Faux & CSPIN |
|
I loved the caller who called not only her but Pedro out for their right wing bias on the topic. Pedro gave the guy the bum's rush but you could see the caller's points hit home. CSPIN has been going out of their way lately to bring on rushpublicans and sockpuppets from the Heritage Institute and AEI...rarely do you see a Progressive on there.
The biggest failure in this "war on terror" is to truly examine the root causes. It's easier to play victim (a GOOP trait) and say "they hate us for who we are" without ever doing the self introspection. It's totally alien to rushpublicans who can't accept responsibility. We still haven't addressed bin Laden's justifications for 9/11...our troops in Saudi Arabia and the underlying Israeli situation. It's also a clash of cultures where many feel they're being inundated with American values...ones that they see as a threat to theirs. But this will never be addressed as it's too complex for a bobblehead reporter and isn't as "sexy" as shooting off talking points and playing to those who put money in their pockets.

9. I actually think they are trained to do that. |
|
How to frame every question to repeat your talking point and stay on message. And if they want to get ahead in this business the had better do what they are trained to do...deliver the message.

Many newsrooms have a "style book" that addresses how stories are framed...and be assured the one at Faux is loaded with talking points. In addition there's the daily blast faxes with the latest spin...fully digested and spewed throughout the day.
I've long been critical of CSPIN as a valuable tool of the right wing "Mighty Wurlitzer". In our 24/7 mediaworld, the points pushed on WJ end up on the hate radio shows during the middays that then creep into the evening cable teevee food fights. They can turn a lie loose and have it everywhere in no time and echo it to make these become "truths"...it's a time-tested and very efficient messaging system. Gotta give the GOOP its props...they stay on message no matter how much of a lie or how wrong they are.
