to give away, join your local organization and post there. I just got rid of a lot of books and puzzles I no longer want. The "offer" ads went up late at night and by noon the next day everything was taken. I put up about 4 different ads..the book were in categories and the puzzles were separate also. It's a good way to get rid of stuff you don't want to send to the landfill and it all goes directly to those who need or want what you have.

5. I don't live in a heavily populated area but big enough |
|
to get maybe 10-20 per day..easy to delete if I don't want any of the stuff, although we did get a nice 2 wheeled trailer one day that the person didn't want.

6. I think it's a great idea and is obviously very popular |

They should at least send out a digest of emails. It seriously overloaded my inbox.

assuming it's a yahoo group, you can change your settings to reduce the email you receive, or not get any at all - just go to the group when you need to post something and people reply direct to you.
if it's not yahoo group and you don't have or can't find the "no email" option (and even if it is) you can manage the email volume by setting up a separate folder in your email account, and creating a rule that automatically routes the email to that folder based on the sending address. Then you can have another rule that deletes the mail in that folder after a set time (like one month) so that you don't overrun your space allocation.
just some ideas for anyone who likes the concept of freecycle but is frustrated with the email volume.
