The US once again takes sides in a religious struggle it doesn't understand, one that has been going on for thousands of years now. We either need to get the hell out of the Middle East and let them sort themselves out (or not) or we need to just "conquer" the whole region and institute a new colonial era. Right now, we are fiddling around the edges, accomplishing nothing constructive, and pissing off hundreds of millions of people who do not like us anyway. Perpetually poking the hornets' nest is no way to remove a dangerous pest and is certainly not sound foreign policy.
