Iran - Ayatollah Khamenei's jet put on standby - Radio Netherlands

Radio Netherlands - Dec 30

Reports from Iran indicate that the Supreme National Security Council has ordered a complete check-up of the jet which is on standby to fly Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei and his family to Russia should the situation in Iran spiral out of control. The order, to the Pasdaran Revolutionary Guard Corps, was dated on Sunday, 27 December. A fax containing the order was sent to Dutch-based Shahrzad News.

AND this as a sign of desperation on the part of the fascists, i.e., Khamenei/

Iran opposition leaders face execution: Khamenei aide

TEHRAN (Reuters) – A representative of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Tuesday opposition leaders were "enemies of God" who should be executed under the country's sharia law.

The statement by cleric Abbas Vaez-Tabasi coincided with rallies by tens of thousands of government supporters calling for opposition leaders to be punished for fomenting unrest after June's disputed presidential election, state media said.

"Those who are behind the current sedition in the country ... are mohareb (enemies of God) and the law is very clear about punishment of a mohareb," the representative of Khamenei, who possesses ultimate authority in Iran, said on state television.

Under Iran's Islamic sharia law the sentence for "mohareb" is execution.

Vaez-Tabasi's remarks came two days after eight people were killed in anti-government protests sparked by the June poll which was won by hard-liner Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

1. Fucking cowards
I just saw the videos posted in the Political Videos forum. They are not pleasant to look at, but they do remind us that the real criminals are no where to be found. They are safely hidden away, protected by the riot police who are pitted against the people who are going after the "leaders." Now we learn the "leaders" are looking to escape the people's wrath by flying to Russia.

If there is a "God," the "leaders" would be the ones strung up...as "enemies of God" if that's what it takes. But for me, "murderous scum" works just as well...

2. Their days are numbered
What we're seeing is the worst expressions of fear - fear of losing power, fear of being punished.

The ridiculous but deadly threat to kill demonstrators in prison form the Dec 27 Ashura demonstration
are the tip of the iceberg.

Khamenei and Ahmadinejad are going down for the count.

6. They came out of the hills like Robin Hood, applauded by the masses.
And as soon as they consolidated all power unto themselves, started acting like the Sheriff of Nottingham.

HUFFINGTON POST (12-30-09): Update: "Iranian journalist and media researcher Omid Habibinia tells HuffPost he has doubts about the authenticity of the document that this report evolves around"...<"[b>he believes the document is forgery, including the fact there are no words below the logo of the Islamic Republic of Iran and no mail is confidential in the Persian month Mehr."

Now I understand why many of us liberals were duped into war with Iraq (as polls from 2003 show). We believe just about anything before confirming it! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/12/29/ayatollah-khamenei-jet-ch_n_406496.html

7. So long as it involves the possibility of killing Muslims...
Liberals are as happy to join in as conservatives. Because Muslims are "evil" according to the broad spectrum of American "culture" - and the iranians especially.
