Racial Slurs Spray Painted On City Hall Horrifies Mayor

A racial statement spray painted boldly on the walls of City Hall has government officials upset and investigators seeking answers today about who did it and why.

The words were written in red, "No N-- Mayor," and beneath those words, a second line that simply said, "Die". They were found early this morning sometime after 7 a.m. on the Laurel Street side of City Hall, officials said.

They were erased before 9 a.m. after investigators took pictures, city officials said.

The written attack is no doubt directed at the two African American candidates running for mayor in a city that has gained national attention over racially-divisive issues such as the Confederate flag.
