6. Just not in the places that were concerns to Y2K efforts
Those efforts took a lot of effort, planning, and resources to dig out and fix the problems. A lot of attention to details, a lot of research, a lot of testing, a lot of documentation. While we had dealt with this issue in our own software products years prior and had spend years working with our clients (we did over 800 Y2K compliance certifications for our customers), we were still on alert 10 years ago in case we or one of our clients had screwed up. No problems for us or for most others; few of the problems that did happen were ever reported because no one wanted that type of publicity.
