7. Extra pain pill
I'll be up until the gunfire is all over, until 1 AM at the earliest.

Needless to say, even if I could drink, there's no way I would with pain pills.

I'm gawping at the Burn Notice marathon, one of my favorite series of all time, far fetched and a total hoot.

11. I have decided to go with an old favorite....Margaritas.
I am just taking a slow roasted pork shoulder out of the oven (eight hours cooking in lime, onions and garlic) and covering it with fresh cilantro. The yellow rice with pigeon peas is done and fluffy and the plantains are sweet and fried. I have ice cold beer from several countries, the fireplace is blazing and I am kicking back with a pitcher of Margaritas on the rocks, so salt.

People will start showing up at about 10:00 so I have done my part and can now get my New Years buzz!

30. Just gave our dog 20 mg of Valium, the fireworks are roaring here.
Vet prescribes copious amounts of Valium for the dog, it takes 20 mg. to get the poor beast to a bearable
level.
I am taking the benedryl for allergies, so no booze.

The film marathon is Studio 60 on Sunset Strip, the last of the Aaron Sorkin shows.

We called it a "Mexican Freight Train". And the effects were similar to being hit by one!! The rest of the night was pretty foggy and when I woke the next morning I felt I'd been run over by said train!! I don't go there anymore, fortunately!! Sipping on a glass of wine as I write this.

Some 1554 ale to go with the popcorn and Netflix. A nice cozy spot on the couch for me and Mrs. Inaustin.

Bubbly around midnight of course.

Hard to think of this as a proper decade, though -- going from 9 to 10 just doesn't seem to have the same epochal vibe that going from eighties to nineties does.

Heck, this decade didn't even have a proper name. "The Naughties" just never took. Come to think of it, though, that may be cause for celebration right there -- Happy New Year, everybody!
