We got all the way through the 2000-2009 decade... |

...and, despite occasionally hearing people trying to use terms like "the aughties", no common shorthand for the decade ever caught on.
I suppose now the same thing will be true for 2010-2019, before we can finally talk about living in the "twenties" and the "thirties", etc.

It's been an awful decade, starting with the selection of Bush/Cheney, two of the most evil leaders this country has ever had. I hope the next ten years can make us forget.
