1. I thought Trudeau was modifying B.D.'s right-winger status. |
|
I guess not.
Good cartoon, though. :D

4. B.D. hasn't changed much. |
|
Trudeau always painted him as an "indoctrinated" mind which finds himself often confronted with the reality of the world, which is the source of his inner conflicts.

Amazing to think she was originally a total bimbo (BD's expressed preference).

brought on by all the end-of-the-decade artist/celebrity memorials. (Yeah, I know, the decade ends 12/31/2010, not 2009.)
When I finally settle down with a new machine I'm going to be scouring the Web for all the MF video I can find. Had two laptops die in quick succession :( ... making do until then.

2. And just a reminder: We had 8 years of a moron - we don't need another one. |
|
The same idiots who think Bush was a great president are the only ones that support Palin. The reason is simple - they need someone even dumber than they are so they'll feel smart. Of course, you have to put that in perspective. For them, a turnip is too smart.

|
That's the dangerous aspect of it. It gives the Failin backers cause for hope.

10. But their hopes are misplaced |
|
because she doesn't WANT to cram or be tutored. She already showed that during her campaign with McCain. She doesn't want to be taught and she doesn't want to learn. That's what we should be rejoicing about. She thinks she doesn't have to--that people will love her and adore her despite her ignorance because they believe she has "horse sense." This is true, but it will never be more than a minority that does, and she will never win a high office again by appealing only to that base.

13. If mrs Palin gets the nomination, |
|
Obama will automatically get his second term in office. Palin draws high negatives from all parts of the electorate that are non-republican.

16. I wouldn't be so sure. Yes, Palin draws high negatives. But |
|
Obama is also hemorrhaging base supporters at an alarming rate. I know I'll never vote for him again, an I'm far from alone. And I think that makes everything less certain. When you have two candidates in positions like that, and large numbers of voters want something else, it throws the whole equation out of whack, to the point where there's no telling what could happen. Those are exactly the kind of situations where unlikely people, and people who should never have won in a normal world, win elections.

I think he showed us that you need to be a hell of a lot smarter than him to be President. That's why we picked Obama. As frustrated as I can get with him, there is no disputing that he is extremely smart and that's a big part of why we elected him.
