Flu woods, out of, not yet, probably.
Courtesy CDC, this week's data (week 51)

Over at the U.S. Outpatient Influenza-like Illness Surveillance Network (ILINet), a marginal uptick in percentage of visits, week ending Dec. 26:

...And at the Pneumonia and Influenza (P&I) Mortality Surveillance program, we're back above the epidemic threshold (7.4%) after spending one week under it. 7.7% of all deaths reported through the 122-Cities Mortality Reporting System were due to P&I:

Keep washing those hands and don't lick them doorknobs, folks. :)

6. Plus we have a reporting lag to consider
...Notably very few deaths associated with your "run-of-the-mill" flu are in the system just yet.

10. But Doorknob-Licking is one of my few pleasures in life!
I've had to give up texting during sex, criticizing Progressives (well, other Progressives), nun-spanking, concealing my carry, having erections that last for more than four hours without calling my doctor, and sniffing Elmer's glue, all in the last year alone.

HOWEVER ... here is the SERIOUS part. Last week, I felt what I thought was a flu coming on -- fever, chills, malaise. On Christmas day, I found I could not lift my leg for all the pain it caused.

It was a fairly serious case of cellulitis. I got home from the hospital two days ago after being pumped full of vancomycin and given a bottle of double-strength Bactrim.

Moral of the story? Keep your physician on speed-dial and consult in ALL cases of significant fever-chills-malaise. (If you make enough money to deserve medical treatment, that is. Remember, "it's not a Right, it's a Privilege"!)

11. Glad I got my seasonal AND H1N1 flu shots this year. Sadly they didn't
protect me from the nasty cold I have now, which immediately went to laryngitis and bronchitis. I can't talk. Glad I have a few more days to recuperate - been sick since Sunday night.
