A spammer's trick you should all be made aware of. |
|
Most internet users have spam blockers. Some of these programs are automatic and you never see the spam that gets blocked by the program, unless you look for it. Well, this has happened to me several times. The spammer sends an email with my email address in the "from" section. Unfortunately, my spam blocker blocks the spam mail anyway because of the contents in the e-mail.
If you have a program that then blocks all similar e-mail addresses, it will essentially block anything you send to yourself, like articles from on-line news.
Anyone know a way around this?

1. You can filter the subject line. |
|
Set up the filter to allow only email with, say, a number '1' or letter 'a' in the subject line. Or, you could just delete the spam. I get a few, but not enough to make a big deal over.

3. Set your filter settings to whitelist your email address. |
|
You will get a few more spams but most have fake "from" addresses.
Check into your settings and rules... somewhere you will find the setting.

7. I have no idea. I use gmail and the only email I get |
|
is from places with which I have chosen to give my email address such as where I have purchased things, other groups and forums, or my bank or places like that. No spam or any kind of junk email.
