When all else fails in politics, follow the money.

When politicians and political hacks start pimping something heavily, chances are there's big money in it...

And there's money in backscatter X-ray and millimeter-wave radar full-body scanners. Digital strip search machines ain't cheap, and one of the manufacturers has a spokesman shilling those machines to the government and in the press...

Yep, it's former Homeland Security secretary Michael "Skeletor" Chertoff.

Second, you abuse the public trust by using your former government credentials . . .

During my time as secretary of homeland security

. . . to push whole-body imagers as the panacea for airline safety, as you have in dozens of opportunistic media interviews since the attempted Christmas bombing.

You fail to reveal in the Op-Ed that the Chertoff Group, your lame security consulting outfit, represents Rapiscan Systems, which manufacturers these scanners. You have the audacity to say that the would-be airline explosion provided

a very vivid lesson in the value of that machinery.

I can almost hear you thinking how it would have been an even greater lesson if the plane had actually exploded!

If I have to leave the state I'm going to make plans to drive now. I'm never stepping foor in an airport again.

6. May not be enough.
Wouldn't surprise me to see these scanners eventually show up at Courthouses, government offices, and other public buildings. Maybe sporting events.

Why stop at airports?

airlines and port authorities for being bought out on a product that he is selling. Shame on the WH and Cabinet?

Now, I am really suspicious about this fire.

He must have bought off the Dutch. (re - their purchase of those screeners for all flights to the U.S. - guess spending the money is better than losing traffic through Amsterdam ... sounds like a deal for an insider like that rat.)

8. Yes, they could. Makes ya wonder why the cheaper method was not used.
Instead of the highly profitable methods that benefit political cronies......
Gee, if terrorism is a profit making business, then why would anyone want it to end?
