Glaring Hypocrisy by Right-Wing Repukes
Edited on Sat Jan-02-10 07:58 AM by louis c
I don't know if this is a criticism of us or them.

I don't get it. Why aren't our leaders condemning the blatant hypocrisy from the right-wing Repukes?

They couldn't wait to jump all over President Obama for waiting two days for a verbal response on the "underwear bomber", yet remained strangely silent when President Bush waited 6 days to respond after the "shoe bomber". By the way, the "shoe bomber", Richard Reid, a non-citizen, was tried in civilian courts. Ouch. Why aren't we jamming this down their throats? Why aren't our Democratic Congressional leaders screaming about this hypocrisy?

Mike Huckabee is a Fox News contributor. Plays his guitar and his Right-wing folksy manner is highlighted on the Repuke Propaganda Network (Fox News). Yet, he pardoned Maurice Clemmons who Killed 4 cops in cold blood. Pardoned, mind you, not commuted. He let this animal loose on society. Now, we can argue the merits all you want, but here is one indisputable fact. If Deval Patrick or Ed Randell had pardoned this murderer, we would have never heard the end of it. We would have had interviews on Fox News with sound bites and follow-ups. Demands for resignations and apologies. Yet, there's that hypocritical bastard, Mike Huckabee, just strumming away on Fox.

I don't blame them, after all, we let them get away with it.

Finally, the former GITMO detainee, released into Yeman, trained the most recent terrorist that tried to bring down the plane in Detroit. That terrorist was released by George W. Bush. Can you imagine the uproar if that Al Queda leader was released by Obama?

We shouldn't just be writing about these subjects on DU or read about them in the Huffington Post. Senators and Congressmen should be asking for explanations, hearings, apologies and resignations. Why don't we turn up the heat?

4. And tonight on ABC News

They had an extended segment pondering the question whether President Obama and his staff were "competent" to deal with terrorism. They even had a clip of Dan "Watermelon Man" Burton holding forth with his stupid opinion. Oh, and much of a muchness was made about President Obama being on vacation at Christmastime. It occurred to me that the "attack" on Christmas Day wasn't successful. It also originated at a Dutch airport, not on American soil. The preview for the incident was a garbled, half-known name, a father's worry, and other things that weren't communicated to the intelligence community until the day after.

I thought back to the September 11 attacks. Attacks that were successful. Attacks that the Bush administration were warned against in a memo one month before. Attacks that occurred hot on the heels of a month-long vacation for Bush. Attacks that occurred while Bush was allegedly on the job, and then he ran all over the country like a scared rabbit. Anybody remember any major media outlets questioning Bush's competence in 2001?

6. Step into the Wayback Machine, folks...
I seem to remember that when Kuwait was invaded President Bush the First did NOT repeat NOT immediately respond or come off vacation...he finished what he was doing and then proceeded to deal with the crisis in a calm, cool and collected manner.

IIRC, his sang-froid in this instance was much admired, too..."Wow, not only does he not panic in a crisis; by waiting to respond, he SHOWED those bastards who REALLY is top dog with the biggest johnson! HE made THEM wait!" :eyes:

Exit back to 2010 this way ------>
