Trivial tidbit on a snowy day
Edited on Sat Jan-02-10 10:37 AM by Solly Mack
Number of registered users is currently at 152,251. A palindrome of numbers. A little piece of fluff during the first days of a new year that mocks me with questions. Is it a good thing to be the same coming as going? Do we ever learn? So we learn - but do we apply what we learn? If we don't use what we have learned then can it be said that we really learn at all? Does it just feel good to say we've learned from the past? We learn, we grow - but if we don't use what we learn then where does the growth come from? Is knowing enough? I know therefore I am? I think I know therefore I am? I don't so much think as ponder and if I were to opine on my pondering I would begin to think that I don't know anything at all. But I can learn. :)

Damn number.

2. On 01/02/2010
Auspicious numbers to start the year.

In college, I had a history teacher who taught that history is cyclical, with similar though not exactly the same cycles recurring.

If so, let's hope for a good cycle this year.

6. The last palindrome day was 10/02/2001

The last palindrome day was 10/02/2001, and the one before that? Well, 08/31/1380…so it doesn’t happen all that often. And the next one won’t happen until 10/03/3001, assuming of course we make it past December 21, 2012

7. 'People should not be afraid of their governments
The Government should be afraid of their people'

This is something Americans (in particular) still need to learn.

Cuz it's all about numbers

Happy 2010!

There are lot of lessons in obedience along the path from childhood to adult...in America ...but not just America.

It goes beyond adhereing to rules that make society better and merges into expecting people to never question, always accept, and just obey because you're told to
