1805-page Kennedy-assassination book published
Edited on Sat Jan-02-10 04:19 PM by CaliCompadre
Written by the Chief Analyst for Military Records on the staff of the Assassination Records Review Board during the 1990s, Doug Horne.
Anyone interested in the topic should go for it. More info here: http://www.maryferrell.org/wiki/index.php/Featured_Inside_The_ARRB_Now_Available

(Horne believes the Zapruder film was altered and two different caskets were delivered to Bethesda Hospital on Nov. 22 1963).

JFK's autopsy was as much of mess as his head. Choosing between a conspiracy so encompassing that it's virtually beyond comprehension it's still under wraps vs the SNAFU's of distraught ordinary people under overwhelming stress, I'll stick with Occam's Razor.

Computer simulations show the lethal bullet coming straight from the Book Depository. Solution? The Zapruder film was digitally altered, or perhaps manually altered leaving barely a trace. Oh wait, this was 1966, where was the technology? Spare me.

Roswell, I mean Oswald, fired the lethal shot. Acting alone? Let's dig up Elvis to make sure JFK isn't in the coffin with him.

Ever notice how he hasn't come forward to explain where he was on either day???

Coincidence?

I Think NOT!!!

8. I've stopped believing in most conspiracy theories,
probably because those I know who do believe in them swallow bigger and bigger slices of lies until they look absolutely silly to me. I have a friend who went from LIHOP to MIHOP to HOP OFF THE CLIFF. He actually believes the members of Flight 93 were removed from the plane and that all the phone calls to family members were faked.

He also believes H1N1 was engineered. I've studied enough about flu viruses to know how easily RNA viruses swap genetic information. I've tried to explain this, but I guess it's more fun to know the powers that be are out to get us.

This way lies madness.

I edged into MIHOP territory for awhile, but finally decided that incompetence was a more rational hypothesis. Me and my silly rationality.

30. My husband and you think alike...
...My husband and I have political discussions quite a bit, and I tend to be more conspiratorial than he is.

We were talking about how horrible High Fructose Corn Syrup and hydrogenated oils are. I questioned how in the
world big Ag could get away with this, and I said, "Are they trying to kill us?" My husband replied, "Honey...you
just don't get it. They aren't trying to kill us. We aren't important enough for them to focus on us so much
and they aren't smart enough to engineer that. They aren't trying to kill us--they just don't care if we die."

I thought that was pretty wise. Corporations, elites and government mucky mucks aren't smart enough (nor do they
care enough about us to engineer our demise) to kill us all. They're focused on their own greed and their
own little elite world and their power. So, if during their quest to conquer the world and make gazillions of
dollars--their endeavors happen to kill a lot of people---oh well.

I think that about sums up the reality where most "conspiracy theories" are concerned.

10. what's really interesting is how willfully naive people remain about machinations of the powerful
assuming that that there can never be a counter-explanation except what we're given in the news, that the agenda of ruling elites is always transparent and known to all, etc....

"Nothing bad has ever happened that I don't know about," etc.

Despite all the evidence to the contrary....

You'd think -- especially after the Bush years -- people would be a tad more skeptical about "official explanations." But evidently not.

There a couple of "Exhibit A's" in this very thread.

I bear them no ill will, though.

I merely pity them and envy them at the same time.

Their ignorance is invincible, but they are blissful and happy with it, and pretty much unaffected by any hard reality.

Who knows, maybe their bubble actually will "protect" them forever.

Good luck, team. Hope your work is accepted by your bosses.

Note that sarcasm, rather than substance, prevails in their post. They tell you that (enter famous person such as Mother Theresa) killed JFK, as if that somehow disproves conspiracy theorists. They also don't know what the ARRB, and if they do, they pretend not to know Doug Horne.

Sorry there isn't more talk about this new book. I would post it again tomorrow or I can kick it.

27. But isn't that really the purpose that snark and insults serves?
Edited on Sat Jan-02-10 10:43 PM by TheWatcher
It is the most useful weapon people have to to completely dilute, derail, and break down an otherwise intelligent discussion to insure that no intelligent or thoughtful debate takes place.

Some people use it as part of an agenda, others do it out of fear, because they cannot handle any sort of reasonable discussion.

I just wish that when threads like this got started, we could IGNORE all of that and maintain the integrity of the discussion.

People who don't want to know anything, who for whatever reason wish to remain as ignorant as possible, are going to do what it takes to make that happen. They aren't reachable, and it really is a waste of time to even respond to them. Their minds are closed, and they don't want them to open. What's worse, they want everyone to be as closed as they are. They have nothing useful to contribute.

I say ignore them and continue the discussion. :)
