Watch Sicko online free:
http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docId=-7648163380348323280&hl=en&autoplay=1

This is the first time I have seen it. I. Am. Furious.

In Sicko, Kaiser Permanente lets a little girl, named Michelle, die...I know...they were just trying to save money. Who cares about a little girl named Michelle, right? Yes, let's give these people our money, lots and lots of money. :eyes:

I am up to the point in the movie where they say in France and England, the governments are afraid of pissing off citizens, whereas, in America, it is the citizens who are afraid of our government. I agree. It's true. If we dare ask for scraps from our government here in America, we are beaten down even more, demoralized, dehumanized, called commie pinko liberals, and told it is for our own good.

But...

Who gives a shit about a little girl named Michelle? Certainly not Kaiser Permanente. That much is for sure.

NO, I'm not through being pissed off about this.

1. Better to email the link to all the members of Congress and to the White House
Then they should be quizzed on the movie to make sure they watched it.

3. Everyone in the country should see this film.
Thanks for posting it. The link didn't work for me for some reason. Here's another one in case it doesn't work for anyone else. http://freedocumentaries.org/int.php?filmID=133

I have sent it to everyone I know and everyone, right and left were seriously moved by this film.

Our for profit health care system is immoral. And rearranging it so that there are more customers for the failed Private Insurance Industry, won't make it any less immoral.

What I cannot understand is why Americans tolerate what is going on and why they, like the citizens of other countries, have not struck terror in the heart of any politician who dares to even suggest that we continue to leave our health care in the hands of the criminals who let that little girl and so many others die.

What is wrong with this country?

4. It says it right in the documentary.
Americans have been kept poor, uneducated, and demoralized to the point that we see something that would be good for us as "socialism" and fear it.

I believe that is the true answer. I cannot fathom why else we would continue such a backasswards system that would let a little girl die like that. When they first started that segment, I honestly hoped the little girl had made it.

I felt a cold chill go down my spine when they revealed she had died. I'm still not feeling too good at all, to be quite honest, but don't tell my future health insurance overlords about that. They'll charge me 3 times as much when I am forced to buy their abusive, cruel, lousy product.

7. I definitely agree about the 'uneducated' part.
And demoralized, isolated from the rest of the world, which is why it's so easy to make them scared of all those big, bad 'Muslims'. Keeping people in fear makes them willing to go along with a lot of things they would not otherwise even consider.

Wendal Potter, the Cigna whistle-blower, said that for the Insurance Industry, when they would turn down coverage for someone, as they did for a 17 year-old who needed a transplant, it was a 'PR nightmare' for them if the story was on the news.

That story of the little girl was so tragic. And to think we are getting to trust these same people to be in charge of our health care. What Americans ought to do, but they won't, is to refuse to pay premiums to Private Insurance companies until Congress gets its act together and sets up a Single Payer system. I doubt it would take more than a few months before they got the message. In most other countries, there is no way people would be as patient with this outrageous system as they are here.

MM is doing what the media fails to do, but he can only do so much in each movie. Sorry you're not feeling well, it's sad that people have to worry about sick. I hope you will be okay ~ :-)

9. MM has said many times that he doesn't care if people illegally download his movie
So long as nobody is making a profit by doing so, he is fine with people watching his movies without paying for it:

The part that he filmed in Canada is actually my home town (London Ontario). He came to premier the movie, but I had to work that night so I couldn't go see him.

12. Americans who are against Universal Health Care are, plain and simple, fucking morons.
The reasons against Universal Health Care are becoming almost as comical and pathetic as the reasons against gay marriage are.

How the HELL . ... how the hell are these people being the compassionate "Christians" that they claim to be and at the same time are SO hellbent on denying a simple human RIGHT to all peoples, including THEMSELVES? What's IN it for them? Really, WHAT'S in it for them to be SUCH dicks? Just like gay marriage . . . it doesn't harm YOU in any way, shape or form, so what the HELL?

One can boil it down to hatred of the poor, or likely minorities. Or this whole myth that "no one, especially not those goddamned poor people, works HARDER AND LONGER than I do . . . why should my hard earned tax dollars go to . . ". Oh SPARE me, fucking martyr. Save the bullshit for your Faux buddies.

Your hard earned tax dollars are pissed away in foreign deserts daily; THAT you have no problem whatsoever with. Your hard earned tax dollars go to bail rich people out that fire you for no other reason that they didn't make enough money this quarter; THAT you have no problem with. Your hard earned tax dollars pay elected officials to sign corporate-favoring legislation to offshore jobs. THAT you have no problem with.

Here's the deal. Let us HAVE our coverage, no pre-existing conditions. YOU can have your expensive private insurance and bankrupt yourself to oblivion should you get sick . .. NO HARM DONE. Why can't this exist alongside what THEY want?
