I am puzzled by the lack of will power or the desire of some to challenge the status quo. They have no problem. They are quite happy with the status quo. They believe in the Golden Rule - he who has the gold makes the rule. It's about money. Why should anything have to change?
The politicians pretend to care. Yet, they change nothing. They vote for the trillion dollar taxcuts. They vote for the wars and the Defense contracts. They vote with Big Business. They vote across the board but they don't vote for the people. Those are the cards we are now holding.
So, who has a problem? What do we do about it?

Our political system appears quite compromised by corporate influence and the influence of the ultra wealthy.

3. What we do is make a few copies of the constitution , and |

At the bottom add the peoples new rules. The new ammendments .
If any politician takes a dime from corporations you are on notice and fired.
If any politician lies to the people of the USA for the sake of gaining office , on notice fired.
If you do not accept these conditions your name will be erased from all ballots no exception and nail the damn thing to the peoples government buildings.

Been thinking about the effort that recalled Gray Davis and wondering if there's groundwork laid anywhere for how to take a more federal approach. Show politicians we're not prepared to wait until next year for them to act as the conduit of the public will they are supposed to be.
Next, I do what I can as an individual to stop the flow of money to the corporatocracy by supporting locally owned businesses, my grocery store is employee owned. A more radical me urges everyone to stop paying everything now, a kind of go 'all in' approach that requires such widespread commitment its likelihood is limited.
Caught the film 'The Corporation' on LinkTV this morning, the documentary is lengthy but always good for inspiration.
Above and beyond all else fight apathy and the atrophy in it, prove to the PTB we are more than the Pavlovian public they've come to expect.
Bound to be a bumpy ride but so is river rafting, I've never done it, but would bet there's a great sense of 'I did it' when its over.
