Department of Homeland Security budget is almost $60B. I'm sorry, our lives are not worth that. |

especially in terms the threat of dying as a result of not having health insurance is a much greater threat to Americans --- than the threat of dying as a result of a terrorist bombing.

It cost money to spy on EVERYONE.

5. DHS does not tap your phones. |
|
That would be either the FBI or the NSA, neither of which are part of DHS. DHS has no intelligence gathering capability.

3. When they talk about risk analysis they always give the example of |
|
fire stations at airports. What are the odds that a crash requiring a fire crew will never happen at a particular airport (probably very high) yet the public insist on having a station there.

4. Do you guys actually understand the difference between the TSA and DHS? |
|
TSA is only one part of DHS. Others are border patrol, ICE, the Coast Guard, the Secret Service, FEMA, and others.
Yeah. Let's defund FEMA. Ignoring FEMA has worked so fucking well in the past.

8. I didn't hear anyone hear saying to defund FEMA. |
|
However, I do believe DHS does waste tons of money.
I think they have this country by the financial balls as does the Pentagon.

10. Uh, what do you think happens when you defund DHS? |
|
FEMA keeps its whole budget and everyone else suffers?
DHS does waste tons of money. As for having the country by the financial balls, its budget is about 1/10th of DoD's.

11. I don't think it mattered whether FEMA was funded or not funded. |
|
The PTB bungle things even when they have money. FEMA trailers are a prime example.

13. FEMA's budget includes money to repair houses for people without insurance. |
|
Pointing out mistakes under Brownie at FEMA doesn't mean the whole agency should be defunded.

7. They do NOT protect our lives. |
|
They completely bungled the sharing of intelligence (their raison d'etre) by letting the underwear idiot get on the plane. Hundreds of people could have died because of the INTELLIGENCE FAILURE not because we didn't x-ray their assholes.
