Outsource ALL CEO's and corporate "board" members.
I'm sure there are people who would love to run our corporations in China or India and would do it for what, $12,000 a year in total compensation.

Just think of the money these companies could save.

By paying their CEO $12K per year vs $200,000,000.

Epic cost savings for all American companies =

ECONOMIC STIMULUS.

American corporations, please consider: Cost savings of this magnitude might be better than any tax cut.

Outsource your CEO's and boardmembers and set the American economy free.

Yes, this post is my lame attempt at cheering up DU a tad. We need to smile more.

So, if you've made it this far..

U've been Unionized!

3. Require every congress member to live in poverty for one week before taking office.
Then they might pass some legislation reigning in executive pay.

Or taxing it at a much higher rate.

Since we're dreaming!

6. Makes about as much sense as outlawing divorce to protect marriage. I like it!

7. This is happening already.
Once they moved the majority of workers to India (for example), it made sense to move the VP of Human Resources and the VP of Operations to India as well, then the VP of Engineering, as well as the CTO. That left just the VP of Marketing, VP of Sales, the CFO and the CEO and / or President. They started moving to India was well in the last 4 years given that most of their counterparts were already there. India graduates more Business School honors students than we have Business Students. They still come here for the MBA, but return to India for jobs (more so than before when they sought employment with firms here).

And the management in India does quite a bit better than $12,000 a year, more like $100,000+. Still, it's a far cry from most major (and many minor) CEO salaries here.

The funny thing is... I worked for a Silicon Valley startup just a few years ago where the vast majority of employees were in India, and about 50% of the staff here was Indian (including the CEO). And I would overhear conversations in the break room about how the Chinese were killing the good salaried jobs back in India (that most of the H1B visa guys hoped to go back to India to get in a few years). Apparently many Indian firms were outsourcing their hardware and now some software jobs to China. All I could do is laugh.
