It's fun to watch right-wingers self-destruct.

This is about a morning drive radio show in San Diego. It was your standard "morning zoo" show, with laughs, pranks, contests, and lots of connection to the audience. And it was good. I was a fan and I listened every day on my way to work.

Then at some point, they went all right-wing and pro-war. No matter when I tuned in, it always seemed to be right in the middle of whining about taxes or repeating the latest Democrat-bashing talking points.

There was one person I show I knew personally who worked on the Dean campaign, but they ended up simply being used as foil for making fun of anything remotely progressive.

Now they are off the air. Clear Channel can't afford them anymore.

1. They can take Bob & Tom out the door as they go
I listened to those jackasses a couple times back when they were newly syndicated, but their juvenile dick-and-fart joke style of humor wore thin very quickly. I heard that they became huge supporters of the invasion & occupation of Iraq, so I began wishing for the demise of their contemptible 'show' thereafter.

4. "Dave, Shelly and Chainsaw"... uh huh.
:eyes:

Chainsaw's real name is Cookie? He needed a nickname? His name IS a nickname.

God, radio is a cesspool. Glad I left that bizz in the eighties. But, hey, maybe some more corporate concentration in the radio industry will fix it. Then ALL stations will get one Wild N Wacky(tm) Morning Zoo program starring one pro-sounding radio dude, one kinda slutty radio chick and one silly dude with a funny nickname and a SFX box. Yeah, that's the ticket!

5. Hey don't give away the formula. Its a radio biz secret!
There was a time in San Diego radio that every personality had "saw" in their on-air name. We had Hacksaw, Buzzsaw, others I can't recall and of course Chainsaw. To his credit though, Cookie is a very talented guy who does a lot of celebrity voice imitations and is a knowledgeable sportscaster in his own right.

Hey there's a idea! Radio needs more sportztawk!!1!1!
