I got mine this morning at Walgreens for $18. CVS/Minute Clinics, Target Clinics, and many other places now have ample supplies, at least in Minnesota.

If you want the vaccine, get it soon, before the lines begin. My local Walgreens just got it yesterday, and I was the only one there. The pharmacist said that his store has thousands of doses, and that there is plenty to go around.

Three people saw me getting the shot, and lined up for one on the spot.

H1N1 is still around, and may have a resurgence.

So far, no body parts have fallen off, and I can still see, so it's all good.

3. Good deal.
It was slow getting to MN, I guess. Something about the extreme cold causing shipping problems.

2. Got mine weeks ago, though I'm 63.
I was sitting in a meeting in a county health department (not my own county), when an attendee noted that that morning the decision had been made to open the vaccine to all. When the meeting ended, about half of us went in and got vaccinated. It was at least two weeks later before my own county decided to open access to all.

5. Good. Here, they opened it up about three weeks ago, but there
was no vaccine around, except for the free public clinics. I can afford to pay for mine, so I decided not to go that route. Now, everyone can get it, if they want. Other states may vary in availability, but it's sure worth checking if you haven't been vaccinated.

6. Excellent. My wife got hers early in December at her
part-time hospital job, but there wasn't any for me at the time.

10. You're a health care provider. You should have gotten it.
Me? I'm just a hand-washer and a Purel user. I waited until it was available to everyone, so you and all the people who were at much higher risk than I could get theres. Lots of people did that, and now, it's their chance.

8. I've never had a flu shot and don't intend to start now.
I'm sure I had the flu sometime in my life but it must have been 35 or more years ago. Given that track record and the fact that I am in no kind of high risk group I'll pass.

12. Unless you are over 60, you were in a high risk group for H1N1.

15. I won't bother, since it is the mildest flu strain documented in recent memory.
Don't take my word for it. Visit this thread for the Washington Post analysis of the pandemic that wasn't and isn't going to be (like so many other weapons of mass distraction -- bird flu, anyone?)

16. Because I am in healthcare and a caretaker I got mine a couple months ago.
I would like to report that I also have not gone blind, lost body parts, and I have not died as a result. I have also enjoyed my immunity while others around me were getting taken down like Mardi Gras decorations on Ash Wednesday, some of whom avoided the vaccine because they "weren't sure about the safety."

One of them missed her last Thanksgiving with her son before he heads out to the Army because she listened to Glen Back and didn't trust the government *now.* She wasn't very subtle about the fact that she thought Obama was up to something horrible with this whole H1N1 "thing."

I have not been very subtle, when speaking to her, about how I've enjoyed the season free of illness.

17. Good. You didn't get sick, but the person who listened to
idiots did. We have those here on DU, too, who suggest that nobody needs the H1N1 vaccine, or who believe it is some sort of nefarious government plot. I keep asking for the list of people who died from the vaccine, but all I hear are crickets. I have a list of Minnesotans who died from H1N1 complications. It numbers over 50.

I just need a couple of weeks of continued handwashing and Purell using and I'll start relaxing. Congratulations for surviving the H1N1 vaccine. :applause:

18. Latest word: About 8 hours since my H1N1 shot,
and I must report that all my extremities are still functioning as designed and I can still spell correctly. I spoke to my wife just 10 seconds ago, and she understood every word.

I believe I will survive this dread vaccine.
