2. What app did you use to put them togther?
Edited on Tue Jan-05-10 07:35 PM by tabatha
The stands of trees (conifers) are awesome.

On edit: I just watched #3; Fingal's Cave is one of my all time favorite classics, and it suited the photos very well.

17. I used Photoshop Elements 7/8
I'm still learning. I'm taking a course on Photoshop starting in mid-January. I'm very weak with video file manipulation, especially the audio tracks.

21. You did a great job.
I have been toying with the idea of getting Premiere - but the outlay is a bit much. I did not know that Elements did video. Does the video include 1920 x 1180?

25. I think Elements 7 does up to 1024 X 678 ..
But, again, I'm floundering with it. I do have Elements 8 and Premiere Elements 8. I'm enrolled in a Photoshop course that starts on January 23.

Really great pictures!

Was the dog really stalking, so stealthily and quietly, deer? Or was there something else?

I laughed when I saw the first day of Summer had snow on the railing.

You had quite a lot of rainbows show up in your pictures.

The music meshed well with the pictures.

Thank you for sharing.

I realized, after watching this one, as fun as it might be, it had to have been cold and a L-O-N-G way to the bathroom!

Dick (if I got your dog's name right) seemed to absolutely love being in the snow! He was so full of life - a great companion for an outpost in the middle of nowhere.

You said the solar panel was covered with snow - where was that located? On the outpost building?

Again, great choice of music!

19. There was a US Forest Servive solar panel attached to the lookout rail ..
Edited on Tue Jan-05-10 08:27 PM by DemoTex
There was also a big solar array about 100 yards away. But I was actually looking at my personal 30-watt panel that was off-camera.

32. Are you planning on doing this again next year?
I've always been fascinated by towers. There was an older tower near here that has since been taken down and a new one put in its place but we went up the old one on a school field trip when I was in grade school. I still remember it well as it was a pretty day clear as a whistle and it seemed like i could see forever. It was an old wooden tower that was a good forty or fifty feet higher than the one they replaced it with or it seemed like it anyway. I remember thinking that I was higher than where the clouds would have been had there been any that day.

33. Yeppers. I'm outfitting now for the 2010 fire season.
Edited on Thu Jan-07-10 10:18 PM by DemoTex
My little Tacoma SR-5 4/cyl 2-WD did not cut the mustard. I'm looking for a truck camper (Lance?) for a Tundra (big V-8 & 4X4). Otherwise, I'll go with a big Ford truck (F-250 or F-350) and a bigger slide-in camper.

I need 10-ply tires for the volcanic rocks on the FS-750 up to the lookout. I priced 10X tires at Costco today .. $333/tire for Michelins. I will buy them. It is worth it, knowing what I know now.

34. I'll be looking forward to the fire season on several levels this year
and I must admit one of them is I'm sick of this cold ass weather we've been having for the last 5 weeks or so. Heading for a big 0 degrees tonight.

The Ford idea sounds good to me as I'm a life long ford man. The diesel in this years ford f series is an in house design and from what I'm reading about it it is one awesome engine.

It looks awesome! I've only gone Toyota because the local general manager is a good friend and neighbor. I can get the Tundra at his cost, MOL.

I enjoyed the scenery, which I'm familiar with. Three Sisters, Broken Top, Fort Rock, Christmas Valley, and China Hat (I think?).

Looking forward to next summer's dispatches.
