Right now, I feel compelled to say that I will hold those among us hellbent on enabling the Republican Party and its wingnuttery responsible for every RW nutjob that lands in office. This is where we are heading, without a doubt.

20. Where have you been?
If you truly think there is no difference, please leave now, because you have no purpose here. None.

If the Bush years didn't convince you that things are always much *much* worse under a Republican administration, please find another hobby.

8. Yeah, You'll Hold US Responsible For Shitty Healthcare and Endless War and Civil Inequality
and joblessness and bank bailouts and overseas torture and all the other things Obama has perpetuated over the course of his presidency.

You're what's wrong with this country.

12. We're already in neolib hell.
Don't bother waking me up when we get to neocon heaven. If you've read "No Exit," you'll understand why.

10. Well, if Democrats believe you have no choice but to vote for and support them,
then they will promise progressives and Liberals whatever they need to tell them in order to get their vote and once they are in they will do whatever they like and again remind Democrats that they have no alternative but to support them.

That ain't change, but you can count on it.

13. What you and I do isn't the question....
Virtually every DUer is concerned enough to vote.. and vote D.

The groups that concern me are the young - read unemployed - and disillusioned middle-of-the-roaders. If they see no change, they will simply stay home. I think they will stay home bigtime.

I'm starting to take steps personally to further separate myself from the economy. If the Repubs come back in, this country is going to leave a smoking crater when it hits bottom.

17. I'll vote in 2010 and 2012 for the most progressive anti-war candidates on the ballot.
My votes are available to the Democrats...if they earn them.

"I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party of men whatever, in religion, in philosophy, in politics, or in anything else, where I was capable of thinking for myself. Such an addiction is the last degradation of a free and moral agent. If I could not go to heaven but with a party, I would not go there at all." --Thomas Jefferson to Francis Hopkinson, 1789.

"Were parties here divided merely by a greediness for office,...to take a part with either would be unworthy of a reasonable or moral man." --Thomas Jefferson to William Branch Giles, 1795.

“Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." --John Quincy Adams
