Chris Dodd is a perfect example of a good guy
Who ends up being turned into an awful guy in the system.

He's doing the right thing though, and I can respect that.

1. I wouldn't call him "awful"
He did go too far with that mortgage thing, but look at what's going on with Ensign (and no thought of retiring there). I'm not trying to justify Dodd's behavior, but it does seem like he is getting cheesed for behavior that pales in comparison to the kind of antics people like Vitter and Ensign have done.

4. Don't worry, Lieberman will announce his retirement in 2012
He's burned his bridges in CT and his poll numbers don't look good for him in 2012. He'll retire and get a consulting gig with the industries who donated to his past campaigns.

3. He is a great hard working man. I just want him to enjoy his
life now. This mortgage thing is bogus but fools believe.

5. I don't think he's awful -- although he's done a couple of awful things. I feel
he's a good man who succumbed to temptation. I wish him the very best.

If he's taking one for the team that does deserve respect, I agree. I'm hoping it's that and not his cancer.

the race. (Losing in polls against Linda McMahon is not exactly a good sign).

9. Well, she was not going to win the primary, but her opponent does even better against Dodd.
Not sure why, but Dodd is really damaged.

10. Michael Moore calling you out in his movie on why the system is a failure
Probably doesn't help you.

12. This is what pisses me off about Dodd
I doubt he made this decision today. I'd bet he's been thinking about this for months. Why the fuck didn't he just put it all on the line and get a REAL fucking health care reform bill out of the Senate, once Ted Kennedy handed the job over to him? Why didn't he just go with Teddy's 2007 bill, and told the insurance whores to go fuck themselves, if re-election wasn't going to be an issue?

Of course the question may as well be rhetorical, since it will be answered when we find out which insurance company he's signed on with. :puke:
