The Washington pro football team just fired its coach, after basically humiliating him the whole season, and after having gone through a whole bunch of coaches over the past decade. The owner (Snyder) is a spoiled brat who runs his team like a fantasy football team.
The second is poking fun at the Mike Leach incident where he (allegedly) put a player in a closet for punishment. Leach was fired but there is still a lot of uncertainty over what actually happened.

My brother who lives in the DC area told me a couple of months ago that the joke going around was that if you got caught speeding there you'd be given a pair of tickets for the next Redskins home game and they'd make sure you'd attend.
