4. Explain to me, in 10 bullet points or less, what Bewsh or Reagone did . . .
. . . for middle/working/poor Americans.

OH, I'd LOVE to hear THIS without doubling over in laughter.

And don't say "tax cutz", because only a money-grubbing idiot would pretend that a temporary sum in his pocket is a substitute for that job they aren't getting (because the private sector has been worse than useless as far as job creation goes), the jobs that aren't available (thanks to Republicans and Third-Way "Democrats" being pro-corporations and pro-free-trade), the businesses they can't start (because Republicans and right-whacko Libertarians hate free enterprise and want corporations to run everything) and a real, keep-up-with-inflation raise they haven't received in 30 years.

14. I think he means small business. Small businesses need tax breaks and startup
funds to have a shake.

YOUR bunch doesn't have any interest in supporting the little guy.

What do you like on your mom and pop pizza?

15. That's EXACTLY what I mean.
Ask most small businessmen/women who started up/incorporated during the Reagan/Bewsh debacles how well they did.

That door is fast closing. In 21st Century America, Corporations have the little guy at a massive disadvantage as far as costs go. Republicans and Libertarians, by position and policy, support this. After all, to them, there's no such thing as bad luck, bad timing or bad economic climates. There's no such thing as "too little regulation".

19. What Bush and Reagan did for middle class Americans
1. Took away his right to union representation through the "Right to Work" laws.

2. Sent his job overseas through tax breaks to his boss.

3. Took away the tax deductibility of non-mortgage interest, thereby giving him the pride of knowing he's doing his part to fund American ingenuity and know-how.

4. Created a 600-ship Navy so Americans could feel pride in their military, but didn't increase the Navy's endstrength enough to allow all 600 of those ships to have crews.

5. Used saber-rattling to increase Soviet defense spending, which extended the life of the Soviet Union by at least eight years.

6. Ensured good nutrition for his children by declaring ketchup to be a vegetable.

7. Made it possible for every American to own his or her own business by preventing the government from prosecuting Amway kingpins Richard DeVos and Jay Van Amdel as the gangsters they are.

8. Left the American people safe in the knowledge that our allies would be able to fight for their freedom and the American Way of Life using peaceful defensive tools like the five million pounds of Sarin and VX nerve agent we sold to Saddam Hussein.

9. Preserved freedom on America's southern border by standing by as three-quarters of the nations in Central and South America installed socialist dictatorship governments.

10. And almost ending the Great American Experiment in a flash by putting the entire Soviet military on its highest alert level ever merely by quipping into an open microphone, "the missiles are on their way."

25. I should have quantified the term "positive things", but that about does it.
The sad fact is that the average Republitarian views ALL of those as "positives".

9. So let me get this straight.
Millions are losing their jobs & houses; the economy is still in the tank; Social Security reform (privatization) is on the table; Iraq & Afghanistan are going full-bore; we are bombing Yemen & Pakistan; action EFCA, DOMA, & DADT; huge piles of wealth are being transferred upwards; and we are on the verge of passing the Health Insurance Protection Act (with added anti-women spiciness)...

And you want to mobilize millions to march against potemkin villagers?

13. Who on earth would unrec a protest at a teabagger/Palin event?
There are MANY things that need protesting in this world and I'd rank a teabagger/Palin event as protest worthy.

18. As the teabaggers luch and veer drunkenly...
...I think all we need do is wait for their next faceplant. The Republican platform wasn't working out for them, so they decided to be more GOP than the GOP? Pathetic. They're just becoming the Party of Hell No.

I won't legitimize wingnut desperation by bothering to join a movement against something so irrelevant.

20. This "protest" doesn't sound quite right. Please provide a link to sponsoring organizations.

And if you can post copies of any flyers, news releases and/or other materials regarding this demonstration that would be greatly appreciated.

DU'ers usually post links where interested people can get more information on meetings and demonstrations they are supporting. You're pretty new here so you probably didn't know that.

Thank you.

23. I have found this information on the internet regarding the teabusters.

Teabusters plan Counter-Protests at National Teaparty Convention
Share: by MonkeyPundit | December 16, 2009 at 06:00 am

The Teabusters, a grassroots Anti-Teaparty protest movement, has shown its humble beginnings as a Facebook Group. (Since being previously reported upon, its membership has more than quadrupled)

Click here for the Teabusters' facebook group page.
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=176322667815

Now it seems that The Teabusters are planning to counter-protest at the National Tea Party Convention and, for the benefit of those Teabusters who cannot travel to Nashville Tennessee, at various public places around the United States.

Here are The Teabusters' Public Statements:

On the Protests at The National TeaParty Convention in Nashville, Tennessee:

The Teapartiers will be having their national convention of crazy at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Convention Center in Nashville Tennessee. Their keynote speaker will be none other than the Queen of the Teapartiers herself, Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

Thus, it is our duty as Patriotic Americans to counter the influence of the crazed and ignorant mob that is actively sabotaging America's Health and Prosperity.

Protests will be held at will outside the convention center or, in lieu of that, wherever we can get media attention over the course of these three days. Any Teabuster who wishes to help organize this event is more than welcome. Help can include arranging/providing for carpools, helping to find local hotels, helping to promote the event (especially on the blogosphere and Twitter).

Those who cannot make it to Tennessee are encouraged to hold local counter-protests in places where they can get noticed by local media.

On National Days of Protest Around the United States

It is our duty as Patriotic Americans to counter the influence of The TeaPartiers- the crazed and ignorant mob that is actively sabotaging America's Health and Prosperity.

That said, it is unreasonable to expect everybody who opposes the TeaParty movement to be able to travel to Nashville to protest the National TeaParty Convention.

Therefore, all like-spirited Teabusters are encouraged to hold and help organize TeaParty counter-protests at their local Town/City halls or other locations that might attract the attention of the National Media.

If we can't be there to protest the TeaPartiers at their own convention, the least we can do is help prevent the TeaPartiers from dominating the National Media and attempting to Brainwash our fellow citizens and our elected representatives.

Anybody who has a camera is highly encouraged to upload photos of their local counter-protests to this group's page.

Also, anybody who has a movie camera is encouraged to upload videos of their local counter-protests to this group's page, in addition to youtube.

In what also seems like the beginnings of an organized effort for National Mobilization, The Teabusters has also encouraged its members to create and organize local chapters through meetup.com, the Pittsburgh Chapter being the first.

27. IT is hard to imagine anything dumber than this right now
WE still have two wars going on and this is all people have to do with their time?

Who was this organized by Answer? PETA? Code Pink?

These groups were set up to take money and distract people with stupid ass bullshit. What we have here is called COINTELPRO. They set up organizations, take leadership roles and then make progressives look stupid. Their main objective is to divide and conquer.

We have two wars going on with no end in sight! I just am just stunned that people here think this is a useful protest.
