Bartcop Is Pissed

Whore CNN Strikes Again

Watching CNN "American Whore Morning" Wednesday, they're making a BIG DEAL
out of the allegation that the AARP has lost 150,000 members over health care.

The bastards got a swirling, fiery graphic that spelled out 150,000
and they want you to think that's one goddamn big-ass number.

"People are angry about this health care bill," John Roberts whined.

So I did some checking (seriously) and it turns out AARP has 35,000,000 members.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A11076-2005Mar29.html

Then, to pretend to cover their ass, as they were closing out the story, after your heard
the shocking headlines and went on about your day, the sons of bitches said,
"Actually, AARP has GAINED two million members."

You lying, crooked whores!

CNN is in the business of lying to their viewers?

After screaming about the tremendous losses AARP had suffered,
after showing some angry tea-bagging handjobs screaming at the TV cameras,
after giving out the false impression, after the story has done the damage,
after making a BIG DEAL out of the "serious loosses" AARP has suffered,
you admitted in closing that AARP is up 1300% in new members
compared to the "hit" they took from the anti-science, tea-bagging handjobs.

Why scream about the lost 150,000 members,
then whisper that they're up 2,000,000?

Fuck CNN, you lying sons of bitches.

Their goal is to destroy our chance for better health care.
We must assume Time-Warner is making a profit off the mess we have for health care now.

19. Agreed. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Or produce a show of your own.
Although Air America didn't exactly fly the way Hannity and Rush have...

8. He's right to be pissed, but I don't understand his math.
How is AARP up "1300% in new members"? I'm assuming he's dividing 2,000,000 by 150,000, but that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. If AARP currently has 35 million members and gains 2 million, that would be more like a 6% increase in members. Where the hell is he getting that 1300% figure from?

9. You're right, it's bad math.
He's right to be pissed at the unethical reporting, but his bad math undercuts his argument IMO.

10. Maybe trying a ratio of quit v. joined
Edited on Thu Jan-07-10 12:31 PM by lolly
I dunno--what's the ratio of 2 mil to 150k?

On edit--yes,as a matter of fact, I AM too lazy to do the math myself . . .

12. Going from 150K to 2 mil WOULD be a %1333 increase, but what does that mean?
It's certainly wouldn't be a %1333 increase in new members. The increase in new members would be closer to 6%. That %1300 figure would just be the comparison in number of people who joined compared to people who quit. It's a meaningless stat unless it's explained properly.

15. It's Bartcop
You want explanations, read Glenn Greenwald!

Seriously, I guess it would have made a better impact if he'd said "13 times as many people joined as quit!"

Guess his highly-paid staff of editors was taking the day off.

14. lol that is funny
OK 2,000,000 to 150,000

take out the zeros (4)

200 to 15 (divide by 5)

40 to 3

then round it

If you are a Democrat that number would be 13 to 1

If you are a Repuke and it is a number you want to tout in your favor the number would be 120 (multiply numbers regardless of accuracy) trillion (too high) billion/million (still too high) thousand. So in a puke mind it becomes 120,000 to one. That is how they came up with a million for the 912 project.

after being snarky I hope my math is correct.

I hardly ever watch MSNBC any more either. It is almost all a lie, caused by a corrupt and money hungry system.
