Another Birther...
Edited on Thu Jan-07-10 11:39 AM by Archae
Even Glenn Beck is giving up on the Birther crap, for crying out loud.

The conservative Post & Email reports that Rep. Nathan Deal (R-Ga.), who’s running for governor in Georgia, has asked the White House for proof that Barack Obama is an American citizen.

Todd Smith, Chief of Staff for Representative Nathan Deal of the United States House of Representatives serving Georgia’s 9th district, has confirmed today that Deal has sent a letter to Barack Hussein Obama requesting him to prove his eligibility for the office of President of the United States of America. The letter was sent electronically the first of December 2009 in pdf format, and Mr. Smith said that Representative Deal has confirmation from Obama’s staff that it has been received. The letter did not have additional signatories. It originated solely from Representative Deal.

1. Remember when many of us on the left know Bush had been AWOL?
And were shut up almost immediately?

And we were right. But they are wrong about Obama's BC.

3. Are they somehow surprised that the Obama Administration is, correctly, ignoring this nonsense.
To acknowledge this foolishness would be a colossal waste of time. If these fools want to continue making international morans of themselves, let them. The rest of us are moving on. :eyes:

5. No, they are pissed off royally. All they want is for him to react. As you are aware,
he is giving it all the attention it deserves.

And the Rabid Right, and their media cohorts, HATE THAT.

4. Seriously...
If you want Obama's birth certificate, GOOGLE IT!!! It is out there for the whole world to see. You just have to open your eyes... and be able to read. Maybe that is where we are losing people.

6. Sadly, at Christmas dinner I found out that a friend's husband
is a birther. Moreover, he also doesn't believe that McCain had cancer. I knew that "Bob" was a conservative Republican, but I had always considered him to be relatively rational for all of that. Now, not so much. I mean, hell, McCain released his medical records that stated he'd had cancer and he's mentioned it several times. After finding that out, I have much less inclination to spend any time with this couple.

7. This man sounds completly divorced from reality.
I think you are choosing wisely in spending less time with this couple. Seriously.

Mr. kt and I had a "house cleaning" a few years back. We decided life is simply too short to waste it with those who choose to be nasty, foolish or downright stupid. Coincidentally, our house cleaning swept the rare rabid-rw moran out of our lives.

8. The sad thing is he is well traveled and a master
carpenter and woodworker. Some of the furniture he has built over the years is minor museum quality. "Bob" also has lots of really funny stories from when he was bumming around the Pacific with his father, who may or may not have had Company connections, many of which start with "I had been drinking ...". He makes a mean margarita and enjoys good rum. He absolutely adores my 7 year old daughter who is adopted from China and will go out of his way to make sure he has said hello to her when we are at an SCA event. There are so many positives about him and yet he is a died-in-the-wool conservative Republican who honestly believes stupid stuff about our president. I'm on the horns of a dilemma in that he and his wife are running for selection as baron and baroness of our barony. The other 2 couples also in the hunt are just not tenable. "Bob" was baron several years ago and did an excellent job. And his wife is the head of our household. I can't not vote for them in the polling as letting one of the other 2 couples get baron and baroness would not be good for the barony, but at the same time, I wish I didn't have to support someone whom I like on a number of personal levels but dislike his conservative political philosophies and birther beliefs. I'm thinking about not taking part in the polling to be honest. It's written and nobody will know if I don't vote.

10. Deal is simply solidifying his batshit crazy base for a run at the governorship
It's just a check mark. I'm sure since he has formally requested to see the birth certificate that the white house will comply with the request and show it to him.

And he'll not say another word about it one way or the other. He MIGHT just say "I'm no document expert" and leave it at that if ever called on it, though.
