Saw concrete evidence of the stimulus at work today.
Driving through the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles today, I noticed some construction happening on the road and the accompanying sign indicated the project was part of the "Putting America Back To Work" initiative as instituted by the stimulus package.

Once the revenue and income generated through these projects reaches workers pockets we should see a nice increase in economic activity.

1. I hope Spring and better weather generates many more posts like yours!
I know I snickered when the TV doomsayers were talking about construction & home sales were down now. NO SH*T! That happens every year when winter comes to the US! If you ever had to list a house in Nov, Dec, Jan, or Feb, like we did, you'd already know that! Unless it's a forced relocation, people just don't think about building or moving when the holidays & bad weather are approaching!

2. I guess we had a "shovel ready" project here. A new road that
wasn't scheduled to be built until 2011 was started yesterday. Mixed blessing,,,IMHO.

3. I saw a similar sign
at a project in Maryland. They are improving a road that leads to a recreational area on the Potomac, improving the boat ramp, and adding parking spaces.

4. Nice. Did you notice it recently? I wonder if the projects are just getting underway now...

5. That part of Sunset Strip hasn't been repaved since the 1930's
The repave had been planned for a few years.

6. I saw one on the little community shuttle we have in our rural area that is used to take preschool
kids to school and old people to the grocery store. I was proud to see it and happy it was going to something so useful.
