No more menorahs at the Leander (Texas) Public Library?

In mid-December, while most people were celebrating and on vacation, there was a stir at the Leander Public Library over a menorah, one of the oldest symbols of the Jewish faith.

Library employees and city officials say a man wearing a UPS uniform walked in and complained about the 6-inch-tall menorah, which was part of a Hanukkah display set up near a Christmas display. The man didn’t leave his name, said Priscilla Donovan, Leander Public Library director, but he proceeded to talk in anti-Semitic terms about the Hanukkah display. She said, “He just went on about how offended he was that the menorah was up. He went on at length about the atrocities that Jewish people had committed against Christians. I told him that I’d consider his concerns, but I told him these are holidays for everyone.”
