I wanted to do it earlier today, but I was working. This is currently my desktop background. It's unfortunate that my old stomping grounds in East Anglia are covered in clouds. :-D

The gulf stream generally runs up the East coast the across then Atlantic around the 40th parallell curling around Ireland and the eastern coast of the British Isles. Instead of making the big arc, the trade winds are pushing it further north into Greenland (warming them up instead).
There have been climatologists who suggest that a loss of this current could turn Europe into an icebox and was a major cause for the ice ages.
