Pinky had a biopsy today.
Pinky was my mom's best friend who has hung with my dad for 20 years after Mom died.

I love Pinky. "They" found a spot on her lung; she's 84 years old. She had a biopsy, and I
hope it is scar tissue. If it's not, she says she won't fight it via chemo, radiation, etc.

It's scar tissue, or benign. She feels fine.

She's 84! And I love her!

6. Oh, my--
I misunderstood too and thought you meant she was OK. I certainly hope it turns out well. My prayers are with you and her.

7. Pinky is a smart lady
Chemo and radiation take a lot out of a young and healthy person. Once you get up in your 80s and you're feeling fine, the few years of misery they might buy you don't seem all that important.

For your sake and hers, I hope it's a lump of scar tissue.

10. Hi, Warpy. What's strange is
her sister went through this maybe 2 years ago, she's a nurse, and had the surgery, and is doing okay. But they know of so many people who didn't survive lung cancer.
I know my dad is reliving the horror of my mom dying-that lasted over 2 years, but happened over 20 years ago.

11. She is a wonderful lady. She is an optimist, a great baker, a
lovely lady who has been a big force in my life because she has been just so nice, to everyone, and been in my life for so long.

I truly love her. Thanks for asking.

kind of funny is my dad is called Sandy, and he's been bald since he was 18. :)

19. Pinky sounds wonderful, and I wish her the best. . .
I would recommend a book for you and her to read: "Kitchen Table Wisdom" (I forgot the name of the author, but she is a wonderful author, a Medical Doctor, and a woman who has lived with deadly diseases for many years).

What I remember the most in that book is this: When one faces a life threatening illness, one faces not only a challenge, but an opportunity. . .the opportunity to heal. This doesn't mean that everyone will always be healed. . but healing has many meaning: One's body can heal, but one soul can die. Or one's soul can heal, but the body die. Or both the soul and the body can heal.

I hope your friend will heal. . .in every way that is most meaningful for her.
