15. Then who cares if that's what more and more Democrats decide to do? |
|
Evidently a lot of us are finding out we are "irrelevant" to our party. I never thought I would ever say this. I have voted a straight Democratic ticket my whole life. But who cares? You don't need my vote. You can convert the moderate wing of the GOP.

13. Yeah, he discusses every Saturday in his weekly address. It is also brought up in Congress |
|
constantly. You may not like the lack of speed being done to address these issues, but to say it isn't being discussed is not accurate
From extensions of unemployment benefits, COBRA subsidies, and negotiations to try to keep people from losing their homes, it is being discussed

I haven't however heard anything about it by Congress ...
What are the plans to address homelessness?
What about ending this huge transfer of wealth to the elite at the expense
of the middle class and poor? Any plans there?
Cobra is already highly overpriced -- subsidizing it is like giving your kid
a $1000 to buy a $400 car!!
Unemployment benefits are progress -- GOP has been denying the extensions.
And think the extensions should be longer than the last I heard about??
I've also been reading here at DU about the efforts to keep people from losing
their homes and seems to be moving very slowly indeed!!
Homelessness and changing tax system to increase taxes on wealthy should be the
first place to begin -- second: ending the trade agreements!
Discussion is nice, but Dems have been in office three years and we still have two
wars!
How long did it take to put the New Deal in place? Think I should look that up!!
PS: Meanwhile, Obama's first activities were to assist corrupt capitalists --
and to use taxpayer money to bail them out. Still we have corporations "too big to fail"!
None of this creates confidence in either Obama nor his happy little corporatist helpers!!

8. Hey, you don't like what is happening, then write your representatives. You think they don't listen |
|
Edited on Sat Jan-09-10 12:26 PM by still_one
then support candidates that aspire to your views, or run yourself
However, equating this administration with the bush administration is nonsense
Of course, you too can complain endlessly how this is the worst administration, equivalent to bush,

9. Hey . . . wake up . . . |
|
Most of us at DU regularly write and phone our representatives --
including most members of Congress regularly --
Many of us have worked in campaigns and run for office --
and we can usually report that the system is blocked by money ---
If any disagree with me, I hope they'll comment here --
However, that's the system and the corruption I've seen --
What's the difference between wars bankrupting our Treasury when Bush did it . . .
or when Obama does it????
Please tell!!

And, which Dem do you envision as running against Obama?
Many Democrats are going to be looking for other solutions other than
NOT voting for Obama -- but it is dependent upon Obama and Dems turning
from corporate/fascism.
When you even try to answer this . . .
Again -- tell me how Bush's wars are something different when
Obama/Dems back them and refund them for three years?
we may be making some headway in honesty here --

I guess the democrats figure if the republicans can be successful with that strategy then they can too. But it won't work on liberals.
