New PPP Poll has Brown (R) Edging Coakley (D) in Mass. Senate Race
Edited on Sat Jan-09-10 08:29 PM by louis c
As a guaranteed voter in Massachusetts and a union activist, I think this poll is bullshit. But it serves our purposes well.

The Democrats' only enemy in this race is complacency. As an aside, the Mass. AFL-CIO and its affiliated unions, will turn out the vote that makes the difference.

For those of you on the left who take Labor for granted, we make the difference in these elections. Why? Because our members, left to their own devices, would invariably vote Republican if it were not for the input and issue education by union leadership. Where do you think "Reagan Democrats" came from? Our job is always the most difficult, because our members are moderate to right on social issues and must be talked out of voting right by convincing them of the importance of economic issues.

We will put boots on the ground and pull this election out for everyone. We will make the difference. And we will win by 15 points (book mark this prediction). Senator Coakley (D-Mass).

6. Will Obama get the message.

No to a mandate for health insurance unless there is a public option.

No to Wall Street and the greedy bankers.

It's so simple. Why don't they listen to what people want?

The worst of it is that Obama never apologizes for having made a deal on health insurance behind our backs. He never apologizes for enabling the greed of Wall Street.

He has never apologized for his personal role in allowing so many, many mortgages to go into foreclosure.

A friend of mine lives in a pretty wealthy area of our county. She told me today that a real estate agent told her that 15% of the upscale, expensive homes are underwater on their mortgages.

The people who own those homes used to be wealthy. A few of them still are. But a lot of them are in deep financial trouble.

This is not just about poor folks any more.

7. "The Democrats' only enemy in this race is complacency."
That, and all of the big pharma and health care lobbyists who are pouring money into Coakley's coffers, turning off Democratic voters en masse.
