Teabaggers Under Siege?
Today on Tea Party Nation Email Paranoia Theatre:

Friends, over the last 36 hours, our site has been attacked by liberals. They have joined en masse, coming on the site to offend, disrupt and interfere as much as they can. They have uploaded inappropriate content, sent us obscene messages and even uploaded pornographic images.

We are taking steps to correct these problems. We want to take this opportunity to thank those who have become members of Tea Party Nation in the last few days. Before our site was assaulted, our growth had been phenomenal. Our precautions are going to slow our growth, but ultimately will keep TPN the site that you want it to be.

Okay, which one of you has been sending out the pron?

3. It's 4chan slang for porn
Edited on Sun Jan-10-10 06:10 AM by Cirque du So-What
When certain letters in a word are swapped, it imbues a post with so much coolness that it's nearly impossible to comprehend. For instance, using 'teh' for 'the' or 'pron' for 'porn' is a shout-out to all the other cool people that they're in the company of coolness factorial! If you REALLY want to get down with your bad self, use 'pwned' instead of 'owned.' For those wishing to REALLY push the envelope, incorporate numerical characters to replace alphabetic characters...especially when they resemble INVERTED alphabetic characters: 'pwn3d' just about pegs the coolness meter.

DISCLAIMER: This is in no way intended as derogatory toward the OP. I have myself used 'pron,' 'teh,' & 'pwned,' as I see nothing wrong with creativity in language or its graphic presentation. I'm just having a bit of fun with these new toys.

4. Meh!
I use it as a bit of silliness. I haven't tried to be cool since 7th grade.

I'm sooooooooooo glad you are around to translate not only the posts but why a person chooses to use certain language.

5. See my edited post
I'm sorry for being a d1ck. I certainly didn't intend to direct it toward you. I was just trying to be humorous, which I shouldn't attempt before my morning coffee.

7. The term pr0n was coined way before 4chan
It goes back to the days of ASCII, BBS and telnet. Basically, it gained popularity because programmers and geeks can't spell worth a damn. Rampant bad spelling also gave us 'pwned'. 4chan has started many memes but they did not originate web-oriented messing with the language.

Sadly, because of 4chan, Milhouse will never be a meme.

18. Milhouse is not a meme is a meme!
and that's as far as I'm willing to take that particular meme. Beyond this point, it gets ugly!

Thanks for the history - some of which I was aware, some I didn't know.

20. I hope this sticks as well as the Scientology thing has.
They've been trolling the scilons pretty much constantly over the last two years. Maybe this will be The Long Troll II. :D

Anyone as self-righteous as the teabaggers are grade-A lolcow material.

8. Wait A Sec!!
I thought the Tea Party Nation claimed they were non-partisan! That, despite appearances, they were not a gang made up exclusively of angry, right-wing extremist/ultra-conservative/libertarian/white/racist Yahoos! I thought they represented all disaffected Americans, regardless of race, creed or political affiliation! If they're gonna be this way, I may be forced to resign my TPN membership....

And there's something just a wee bit fishy-smelling about those "obscene messages" and "porn" accusations. Liberals seldom resort to using such tactics. We don't have to. With logic, reason and truth on our side, tantrums aren't necessary.

 :silly:

9. soon-to-be-released TPN press release:
"Recent attacks on our website have been determined to have been generated within our internal email/communication system.

We are not sure what the nature of these attacks are. We will keep you informed."

Later: "We have determined the problems generated with a failed computer server. Though the problems have been corrected, we remain vigilant to prevent any potential attacks generated by liberals and their minions."

11. This all stems from that incident when they said they banned Rachel Maddow from their site
Maybe a couple of these pranksters are liberals.

The rest are "anonymous" who caught a whiff of the idiocy over at that site.

And they just keep digging themselves deeper and deeper.

15. From TPN to PVU
That is, professional victims united. Digby has a post dated yesterday about a New York Times article on Roger Ailes of Fox, but her observations are easily adapted to our friends at the Tea Baggers. That is, for all their pioneer spirit, rough-and-tough bluster and rhetoric, they see themselves as victims, personally targeted by the forces of evil, and beating them off with their bare hands, if only just.

On the other hand, maybe they're just a bunch of drama queens.
